samba 2.2.8pre2 changelog
Hi,
I read the changelog, and couldn't help noticing this:
Changes since 2.2.8pre1
-----------------------
8) Always use safe_strcpy not pstrcpy for malloc()'d strings
25) Merge from HEAD. Use pstrcpy not safe_strcpy.
Did this change get reverted intentionally ?

flex package marked as fc6 and no flex-devel?
Hi all,
I'm in the middle of setting up a build environment for OpenWRT and it looks
like the packages need flex.
Looking at the CentOS repositories, it looks as though the flex package is
tagged as fc6 - it also looks like there is no flex-devel package at all.
Does anyone know what the go is here?

Simple question about formulae in R!?
Good morning reader,
I have encountered a, probably, simple issue with respect to the *formulae* of
a *regression model* I want to use in my research. I’m researching
alliances as part of my study Business Economics (focus Strategy) at the
Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. In the research model I use a moderating
variable, I’m looking for confirmation or help on the formulation of the
model.

Unable to get variable list - Receive timeout
hi,
trying to run upsc gives "Unable to get variable list - Receive timeout"
which doesn't explain what's wrong, does it mean upsc can't reach upsd or that
upsd can't reach UPS or driver? it should provide more info.
somehow i can't find these strings in the code so no patch from me :)

Problems in games.
I have a RedHat 7.0 system. I compiled wine (form CVS, mondya afternoon) with the transgaming patches.
For the most part it works pretty good, I can use napster, winamp, and many other programs that are installed on my win98 partition.
The problem is when I play games. I donm't have that many games that I want to play (about 5), but I can;t get any of them to work properly.
The first game

Sorry for refering so late to a (securityfocus) post, but the Subject
has been nagging me for the last month ;-) Problem was how to keep your
DISPLAY, xauth and security (no 'ssh root at host' over the net) when

Entering data into a multi-way array?
Hello: I am a novice R user, but I have been working my way through the
manuals / tutorials, ... I have R / Deducer up and running, and know the
basics.
I want to analyze a microarray (gene expression) dataset.
I need to input the data into R as a multidimensional (multi-way) array,
something on the order of
15,000 x 3 x 8 x 2 [genes x replicates x time points x treatments]
I've

ssh-agent clustering
Hi.. I've looked through all the documentation and searched numerous
websites and I can't find any viable current way to cluster ssh-agents.
The functionality gap I see is to allow a situation where 2 ssh-agents are
running on 2 different trusted machines. If one of those machines goes down
passwordless logins should be allowed to continue through the backup
ssh-agent. And when the

Feature request, or HowTo? State-full resume rsync transfer
I am looking to do state-full resume of rsync transfers.
My network environment is is an unreliable and slow satellite
infrastructure, and the files I need to send are approaching 10 gigs in
size. In this network environment often times links cannot be maintained
for more than a few minutes at a time. In this environment, bandwidth is at
a premium, which is why rsync was chosen as ideal for the
