Help with multidimensional array
I have the following situation. H12 is an array of dimension (n,k,m) and hessian_lambda is a numeric of length m. I need to multiply each matrix H12[,,1], H12[,,2], ..., H12[,m] by hessian_lambda[1], hessian_lambda[2], ..., hessian_lambda[m], respectively, and then add the resulting (n,k) matrices. What I am using at the moment is t...

Stats help with calculating between and within subject variance and confidence intervals
...ation from Pg 62. The data are fill weights from bottles sampled randomly from a sample of four filling machines. There are 12 values, and the confidence intervals are for 1-2a = 95%. I have got the same results as the book but using slightly different fomulae (see variables for H1, G1 and H12 and G12). I'd appreciate any help, and any comments on whether their is a better way to do this. density ellipses?
Hello, has anybody written a function to plot density ellipses (95%, 99% or anything) in a scatterplot? I found nothing in any package, nor in the list archives. There does seem to be a contributed package "ellipse" for S-Plus (on S-Archive), but it does a lot more than what I would need. Still, if anybody ported it to R, I'd be grateful for a link. I'm a bit afraid to try the
