Load-balancing with multipath routes (1 NIC + 2 GWs)
Greetings, I''m trying to set up some sort of load-balancing on a Linux (Trustix) gateway by using multipath routes, however I''m stuck with some problems. The idea is that this gateway (odd as it may seem) only has one external interface, which should route packets to two different gateways (Ciscos). The gateway''s external interface and the routers are all on the same

G729 codec for asterisk
Hi there, Here at my company we are willing to use the asterisk IVR system. The problem we are having rigth now is that all our GWs use G729. I've read that in order to asterisk be able to make transcoding from the GSM audio files to G.729, it is necesary to purchase a license from digium. Is this correct? I've seen that licenses are purchased on a per-channel basis. Could we make some sort of agreement on having a...

OT - CID with Asterisk and Betamax
...et=secret:username and username=CID should work. I tried, doesn't work. Anyway it wouldn't solve the problem, I would have to dynamicaly change the username (how to do this?), as the CID is depending on the current call. Has anyone of you have success with Voicetrading or others Betamax GWs to set there own CID? If yes, would you share? Ah, yes, already tried to contact their support, but like all Betamax Services, no answer. And yes, I know, use other GWs -what I do-, but their prices are very competitive and my account is loaded. Regards, thanks for any hint. -- Daniel

sip registration problems
...s to configure asterisk so that it forwards any calls that it gest from the pstn side to the sip proxy and wise versa with a possible pattern matching rewrite of the calling/called phone numbers (user part of the from/uri on the sip side). cisco calls this dial plan configuration in their pstn/sip gws. can that be easily done? sip.conf showed examples where each number is separately listed in it. -- juha

SIP to H323 call timeout
Hi all, I have the following setup: UAs ------------SER ------------------------ ASTERISK ---------------------GNUGK --------------- GWs SER is configured to route call requests from UAs to Asterisk. Asterisk is configured to receive the call on SIP channel and dial out to GNUGK over H323 channel. The problem I'm facing is that asterisk sends out the call request to GNUGK and times out immediately, so call setup is never co...

iproute2: gatewayed routes in ancillary tables
Hello all, Tomas Bonnedahl and I recently corresponded about a rather odd behaviour with routes in ancillary routing tables. We both receive a "Network is unreachable" error when we try to add gatewayed routes to ancillary tables and the main routing table does not contain an entry for the gateway IP. It seems that unless a route to the gateway IP exists in the main routing table, I

mount cifs with sec=krb5
Hi, I am trying to mount fileserver (samba, 10.20.30.16) shares on a linux domain member server, where I logged on via ssh using AD my credentials. I am unable to get past the "mount error(126): Required key not available" error message. I have read and googled a lot, and could use some help. IVR with chan_h323 module
Hi there, I have the following scenario: I have a GK that controls my H323 GWs. And, I am needing an IVR royalty-free system. More than an IVR, it's only something that should play a sound file depending on the called digits. So, I wanted to use asterisk as my IVR. So, I've installed asterisk with the chan_h323 module and used the Playback comand in my extensions.c...

ignore flash hook
Hello, I've created Call Center with Asterisk (1.6.0.5). Call Center's agents are not Asterisk SIP user's, but other's voip gw SIP 5 class users. Everything works fine, except when one agent wants transfer call to other agent. They do it with flash hook. So and two voip gws (Asterisk and other gw) detects this flash and both starts playing MOH. The transfer is unsuccessfully, cause client doesn't hear anything when seconds answers the call. My question is, is it possible (and how to do it), that asterisk ignores flash hook in queue? Maybe is it possible to igno...

[Bug 63] New: fwmark loopback routing issue

A and B machines were running 2.4.20 custom kernel with iptables 1.2.7a, + IMQ patch; they are ipsec gws; thinking it was maybe a kernel or ipsec problem, i reverted to the stock rh kernel (2.4.18-5); but still with the same problem after playing with routes and iptables, i found that doing : (everything flushed and cleaned, filter accepts everything, no nat, etc.) iptables -t mangle -A INPUT -j MA...
