Removed a DC but...
samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix Yes, should be possible, but i normaly do that after i do the following. search for : CN=58eba604-07e5-4c5d-a104-9e6f4907248f And CN=16b8c008-6c59-4b65-9f1b-530751904a75 In _msdc.dom.tld. Verify which GUID is removed, you can see that, then remove the old server GUID. Run : dig CNAME 58eba604-07e5-4c5d-a104-9e6f4907248f._msdcs.ad.fvg.lnf.it dig CNAME

dsdb_access Access check failed on CN=Configuration
All- I've got 3 DCs (version 4.9.6-12) that, prior to today, were running without issue (as best I could tell). Every night I run a few commands to monitor the status of the DCs/domain. I run: * dbcheck --cross-ncs * samba-tool drs kcc <other DCs> * samba-tool ldapcmp <local DC> <other DCs> (domain|configuration|schema|dnsdomain|dnsforest) * samba-tool drs showrepl These

Removed a DC but...
Hai, The steps shown here dont work? https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Demoting_a_Samba_AD_DC If that is the case and you besides that free of errors. Then upgrade, and try again once your on at least samba 4.9 or 4.10. As im hoping you are upgrade straight to Buster. multi-site DC - AD
and you have added the following to the /etc/hosts 172.16.99.3 pdc.domain.co.id pdc and you did setup your krb5.conf in that way you point directly to the correct hosts without the use of a search like: [logging] default = FILE:/var/log/krb5libs.log kdc = FILE:/var/log/krb5kdc.log admin_server = FILE:/var/log/kadmind.log [libdefaults] default_realm = SMBDOM.EXAMPLE.COM dns_lookup_realm =

Tracking file activity
Hey List, I was wondering if and how one would go about tracking file activity on a Samba server, for basic auditing purposes. I'd ideally like to see what files where edited, by whom and when. I've done some RTFM and a bit of searching around the 'net, but haven't found anything yet. Even pointers to documentation on the subject would be welcome. Thanks in advance for

Question about adding DNS records
Hello all, I managed to install an extra DC. The first DC is comsrv01a with ip 192.168.0.200. I run Samba 4.1.9 and BIND 9.8.1-P1. The new DC is srv01ham with ip 172.16.32.222. I use the internal DNS. I run Samba 4.1.9. I use a permanent LAN-2-LAN VPN via my Draytek routers. The first DC (comsrv01a, 192.168.0.200) is my primary DNS server. This is configured in all my routers and DHCP servers.

Question about silos and Authentication policies
I was playing around again with Windows and when you add members to silos, or remove them, it should not set/unset assigned silo on the user. So I've got a new pull request in Draft state still where I remove that functionality, as well as add some new commands to samba-tool user command. It turned out to be easier to add sub commands to user, as edit user wasn't quite what I thought

ZFS disk failure question
So, my Areca controller has been complaining via email of read errors for a couple days on SATA channel 8. The disk finally gave up last night at 17:40. I got to say I really appreciate the Areca controller taking such good care of me. For some reason, I wasn''t able to log into the server last night or in the morning, probably because my home dir was on the zpool with the failed disk
