smbpasswd complains about LDAP: "Object class violation"
...9;m running up against a problem. It is my understanding that the machine trust accounts need to be added with smbpasswd (or an LDAP workaround such as the smbldap-useradd.pl that comes with samba), but smbpasswd fails with the following error: -------------------------------- # ./smbpasswd -a -m guinea-pig$ ldap_connect_system: Binding to ldap server as "cn=directory manager" LDAP search "(&(uid=guinea-pig_)(objectclass=sambaAccount))" returned 0 entries. ldap_connect_system: Binding to ldap server as "cn=directory manager" failed to modify user with uid = guinea...

Mainland "Equatorial Guinea" missing?
In the World map, mainland "Equatorial Guinea" seems to be missing although two offshore parts, "Equatorial Guinea:Annobon" and "Equatorial Guinea:Fernando Po", are present. I'd like to be able to fill the mainland piece. How can I correct this? Thanks. -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/Mainlan...

Thank you for your guys reply for my previous question. But I got one more question about the boxplot. Converting / to ext3.
My guinea pig laptop has only a / partition, and a small /boot partition. I installed the ext3 kernel succesfully (I think). Now, how do I get / converted to ext3? I'm thinking: * Use mkbootdisk on a floppy, to create a boot disk with the ext3 kernel. * Boot off the floppy. * Follow the instruction...

ip alias and masq
Hi for all ... I just read all doc about ip alias in Shorewall . If I am right, I can not use ip alias with masq, it is right ? What I am trying to do is create an ip alias in my internal network interface and use it for tests purpose ( specifically for getting familiar with multi ISP shorewall config ) The actual system is working fine with the ip 192.168.1.1 in eth1, eth0 is my dsl provider .

Reloading ??
All, So I got passed my initial hurdles with merb 0.4. And all seems to work very nicely. Thank you all for your help ! One thing though, why should I have to bounce the merb server when I change my controller or associated classes ? Am I missing something ? I am having flash back to my java days where I now have to reflect on what changed and bounce the server accordingly...

Hardware-based Icecast source client
...n UI for everything. In the interim I'm thinking of putting together some simple shell scripts to automate network configuration. If it's wired (DHCP), no network configuration is necessary. Would anyone here be interested? I'm just starting out so I would want to have a couple of 'guinea pigs' to help me test it out (I would provide the hardware/streaming service at a discounted rate). I think "IceBox" would be a cool name for it, too ;) I have an existing business and reseller's permit so I am a legit hardware/service vendor. Any feedback is appreciated - here...
