Failed initialise SAM_ACCOUNT for user gerard$.
Failed to modify password entry for user gerard$
I take it this has somehting to do with PAM & or shadow passwords, & I

help with logons/passwords
Hi,
If I setup a share, and create a user with smbpasswd -a, I have to have
enter the password extactly as the password supplied by the user's
win2000 logon. If they match, then the user connects correctly and all
is well. If, however, the win2000 password is different from samba's,
then the user connects as 'nobody', and as 'nobody' you get problems
with permissions

Build error due to Waf task dependency cycle in run_after
Dear all,
trying to build some Heimdal-based packages for Samba AD DC under
openSUSE I am facing some difficulties with the build system:
During the installation which is triggered by "make install" waf complains
about some task dependency cycle after leaving folder bin/default.
Full log including config options can be seen unter https://build.opensuse.org/

Several logon script bat files?
I simply wonder if I can have several different logon script bat files for
MS Win users that validates through my Samba PDC?
Let's say that group "users" should have logon batch users.bat and the
members of the group "sales" should have both users.bat and sales.bat
executed at logon? Or can I in some way use ONE script with parameters that
knows about what groups the user

File Permissions
I have set up Samba so that all users on my small network can read from my
one of my Linux shares as well as write to that share.
However, when user A saves a file to that share, user B can't open it -- and
vice versa. How can I set up samba so that all files written to that share can
be read, modified, and deleted by all users?
Thanks in advance for an answer to this question.
