Centos 6: qemu-kvm: Install guest win10 on host Centos 6
I have try to install from iso Windows 10 on a centos 6 + qemu/kvm, but
the guest not start and reboot after a while.
Form this page:
http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Guest_Support_Status#Guest_Support_Status?
I understand that I must install at least qemu-kvm-2.3.0, but on the
server (up to date) is installed qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.479.el6_7.2 and
there are no other updates.
I can upgrade the server to Centos 7, but on Centos7 the max newer
version of qemu-kvm is 1.5.3-105.el7_2.1

Compile a kernel
Hi buddies
I attempt to compile a kernel on CentOS 5.3.
The kernel version is 2.6.31.6.
All make procedure is running ok.
I can generate initrd image with no problem too.
But, when I try booting this kernel, I get Kernel panic:
Setting up other filesystems.
Setting up new root fs
setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory
no fstab.sys, mounting internal defaults
setuproot: error

...is this the recommended method for running KVM 72+?
According to this...
http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Guest_Support_Status
...KVM version 72 is required for Windows Server 2008. CentOS ships
with KVM 36 and the testing repositories have version 66 - and that's
only provided as source: http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/testing/SRPMS/.
Maybe the KVM HowTo could be updated for anyone with the misfortune to
require...

idea is to use centos 6.3 as host, at first step until I can test
centos 6.4
Thanks.

Mitel only supported VMware virtualization platform for some CentOS servers based products
Hi,
Some Mitel products, which are CentOS 6.x or 7.x servers based with some
telephony services added, are only supported on VMware virtualisation
platform, even all if theses CentOS guests are certified on last
CentOS/Redhat Virtualization or Microsoft Hyper V platforms.
So, at he moment we have three bad choises :
- Migrate part of our virtualization services from KVM/libvirt to VMware ;

Server Virtualization
Hello,
I work for a school in a New Zealand university and we are wanting to
implement Server Virtualization for both CentOS and Windows systems. So
I thought I would ask here what experience people have had with this and
what issues that you all think should be considered?
From my own research it seems that VMWare or Xen are really the two
major products to be considered, are there any
