apps api?
Hello, Is there a published apps API? Or do I need to just start reading source code? -- Jesse Guardiani, Systems Administrator WingNET Internet Services, P.O. Box 2605 // Cleveland, TN 37320-2605 423-559-LINK (v) 423-559-5145 (f) http://www.wingnet.net

speex 1.1.7 crashes asterisk 1.0.6
...I use GSM, ILBC, or ULAW. Speex seems to be installed in asterisk too, because I can run "SHOW TRANSALTION" and get speex output. Has anyone had this happen before? Has anyone successfully used speex 1.1.7 with asterisk 1.0.6? Do I need to try another speex revision? Thanks! -- Jesse Guardiani, Systems Administrator WingNET Internet Services, P.O. gsm player for Linux?
Hello, Does anyone know of an audio player for Linux that will play asterisk's GSM files? I know I can convert them using sox, but I'm hoping to play them natively so I can test out some voicemail settings. Thanks! -- Jesse Guardiani, Systems Administrator WingNET Internet Services, P.O. unified authentication
...authentication options in my Cisco routers... so maybe it's a good choice after all... In conclusion, I'd love to hear how other people have defined and implemented their organization's security model. Any personal stories, website links, or advice would be welcome. X100P interrupt load
...assignment problems, so I'm wondering what my baseline should be. Also, I have a dual CPU PII motherboard with two X100P cards in it, and it's hitting about 1000 interrupts per second per card too. Is this normal? How many interrupts per second can a given CPU sustain? Thanks! -- Jesse Guardiani, Systems Administrator WingNET Internet Services, P.O. wcmd - CALL doesn't honor PATH
Hello, I noticed this while attempting to run a DOS software suite. The CALL command in wcmd doesn't seem to honor the set PATH. If I put this in my environment (via regedit): c:\windows;c:\windows\system;e:\;e:\test;f:\;f:\downloads\daphne\tools Then I put the following in f:\downloads\daphne\tools\bob.bat: path c:\windows;c:\windows\system;e:\;e:\test;f:\;f:\downloads\daphne\tools

ignore a DID?
Hello, What is the best way to ignore a DID and not pick up the line? I don't want to incur charges on the line (T1 PRI), so would Hangup pick up the line, then hang up? Or can I use Hangup? Thanks!

X100P voicemail volume too low (quiet)
...Also, many complained that it was only too quiet via email, but checking the message via SIP was OK. This isn't the case for me. It's just too quiet all around. However, if I LEAVE a message via SIP, it sounds fine. Does anyone have any hints, tips, tricks, solutions? Thanks! -- Jesse Guardiani, Systems Administrator WingNET Internet Services, P.O. RHEL3, winbind, "Error looking up domain users"
Hello, I've been attempting to get this working all day. :) I have an RHEL3 machine connected to a Windows 2000 PDC as a domain member. I'm running samba 3.0.21c, compiled from an SRPM: # rpm -q samba samba-3.0.21c-1 When I try to list my users, I get this: # wbinfo -u Error looking up domain users Exit 1 Similarly, `getent passwd` fails to show any SMB users. But `getent passwd

Fax
Hi all ! Let's say you have about 6 small different companies sharing the same E1 / Asterisk server, and every company needs its own fax number. Since they don't really need fax machines, what would be the most cost-effective way to handle this (keeping fax-privacy at its best) ? Is there a way to configure Hylafax or sth & one modem behind an ATA-186 to email faxes to different

spandsp 0.0.2pre25
Hello, Is anyone successfully using spandsp 0.0.2pre25 with either asterisk 1.0.x or 1.2.4? I've built a Gentoo ebuild for this version of spandsp and app_rtxfax, and it builds, but I'm not having any luck getting it working. 99% of my test faxes fail. Reverting to 0.0.2pre20 yields a much higher success rate. I've bumped the console debugging level in logger.conf to include debug

cidname via IAX2?
Hello, I'm having an apparent issue where caller id name isn't coming through my IAX2 channels. The name shows up in the asterisk cdr log, but my IAX2 application doesn't receive it. I'm running asterisk 1.2.4. Is this a known problem or config issue? Thanks!

w2k ADS + Samba ADS Member, quirky browse mode
Hello, I'm seeing an odd quirk running samba 3.0.21c & winbind with kerberos 1.3.4 joining a windows 2000 ADS domain on RHEL3. The Samba server's hostname is "staging". I run: /usr/kerberos/bin/kinit Administrator@DOMAIN.COM net ads join Then I start up winbind and smb. winbind works prefectly. I can log in as a domain user from via sshd/PAM, and the usual:
