TF2 with GTX260 and Quad-core Phenom II - what performance?
I have a GTX260 216 core, running the latest Nvidia binary driver(260.xx). I have a Phenom II x4 3.2ghz, and 4GB of DDR3-1600 ram. All in all, not a bad system. Now, my problem is that no matter what settings I use, I tend to get in the 30-50fps range with DX8.1. Lower if there's a lot of action onscreen. Th...

Wine with 2x nVidia GTX260 lame peformance ingame?
Hi people. So I got Steam running properly in WINE by reverting to version 177 of the nVidia driver. Now I have a new problem. I have really shitty performance for Source games in WINE. This means rainbow-y colors, glistening walls, at ~13 fps with all lowest graphics settings. High quality native linux games run beautifully at all highest settings, including Penumbra and Prey and Quake 4. I

Re: TF2 with GTX260 and Quad-core Phenom II - what performance?
A lot of older versions of Adobe programs will run under Wine at a performance loss. By the way what applications are you running? What versions of it?

Semi-OT: hardware: NVidia proprietary driver, C7.4
...affect kmods on RHEL. > > So it sounds like a known issue which has already been fixed. If you > don't want to use our packages, maybe take a look at the patch and try > applying it to your build. Tested 340.76, 340.102, 340.104 (elrepo and proprietary). No luck over here with a GTX260 and the 64b-drivers. Will test some more, if still no luck, I'll just reinstall from scratch. -- //Sorin

Semi-OT: hardware: NVidia proprietary driver, C7.4
Le 26/09/2017 ? 19:59, Scott Robbins a ?crit?: > Why not use the elrepo repo? They've worked flawlessly for me, both with > legacy and new cards. I know this is weird, but I've had cases where the downloaded NVidia driver worked and the ELRepo driver didn't, and the other way around. Mass Effect and dinput8
...stricted, as in bug 6971 or bug 16822. I'm really not sure how to proceed. I've tried wine 1.3.7, 1.3.8 and 1.2 again, and I've had no luck with any of them or any combination of dinput8, the mouse patch or anything else. I'm using ubuntu maverick 64 bit, amd 6000+ dual core cpu, a gtx260 nvidia card, and 4 gigs of ram. Thanks for any help. Obviously, I've re-compiled wine from source each time, and I'm using this particular patch because it seems to work with mass effect 1, and it applies cleanly to all my particular versions of wine. Also using proprietary nvidia drivers.

[Bug 48890] New: dmesg full of DATA_ERROR SEMANTIC_PTSZ_OVER_LIMIT errors on nouveau driver
...riority: medium Component: Driver/nouveau AssignedTo: nouveau at lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: askondro at gmail.com QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org Created attachment 60270 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=60270 dmesg log I have a GTX260 (NV50 I guess) and currently I'm getting a lot of DATA_ERROR SEMANTIC_PTSZ_OVER_LIMIT errors in dmesg. Whenever I see that Chrome has some rendering issues I look in the dmesg log file and see all the errors mentioned above. I can't say for sure that only Chrome produces these errors......

Wine Failing Miserably
...I have attempted to get wine to work with either of thse installations and I have had absolutely no luck. I have uninstalled wine competely. I have deleted my ~/.wine directory. I have compiled from source on both 32bit and 64bit systems. I have installed every iteration of the Nvidia drivers (gtx260). I can get basic stuff to work with wine, like notepad, wordpad, and (oddly) ventrillo. However, I can't get Steam, Warcraft3, or my Parallax Propeller comipler to work. What is weird is that the installers all work. I believe this is a OpenGL or DX rendering issue or something. Steam and...

Semi-OT: hardware: NVidia proprietary driver, C7.4
This is really frustrating. I've got a server with two K20c Tesla cards. I need to use the proprietary drivers to use the CUDA toolkit. Btw, I had no trouble at all with building for CentOS 7.3 I have what NVidia claims is the correct driver package, a 340 series. It appears to build, but then fails to load. The only error I see is "no such device", which makes no sense to me, esp.

Patches for VGA-Passthrough XEN 4.2 unstable
Hello, I have been working on VGA-passthrough in the last month. When Xen was at his version 3.5 there was a few patches to make this work for some graphic cards using the patches developed by Han Weidong and posted here (http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2009-08/msg01176.html) and the same patches posted file by file are here

VGA/PCI Passthrough of Secondary Graphics Adapter
Aloha! Concisely, I''ve been trying for several days to get VGA/PCI passthrough working. Regarding VGA vs PCI passthrough, I''m not entirely certain of the difference? Does Xen perform a different set of operations when passing through a VGA card versus any PCIe card? I''ve read the wiki and it seems the answer is "yes;" however, when passing through a
