[LLVMdev] LLVM Coverage GCDA Flush API
Why does __gcov_flush only flush the current compilation unit? For gcc __gcov_flush flushes all of the loaded files. Is there a way to have __gcov_flush flush everything? -- John Harrison On Wed, Feb 6, 2013 at 10:24 AM, John Harrison <ash.gti at gmail.com> wrote: > Ah, my mistake. So this already works. Ah, my mistake. So this already works. [LLVMdev] LLVM Coverage GCDA Flush API
Yikes! It only flushes the counts for the current compilation unit? That sounds like a terrible bug. Can you file a bugzilla report, please? Slight oversight in the type documentation
So I was looking at the type reference, and noticed that for a lot of the types, no namevar was listed. When I checked the types in the code, for each of those omissions, the namevar was simply "name". Now, it might be self evident that this is the case, but a little documentation couldn''t hurt, If not in each type, at least in the section where it describes what namevars

Samba and Sun NIS
I am trying to get Samba working under Solaris 8 with NIS (not plus) on this. My NT machine and the Sun machine pass all of the diagnostics and I can see the exported drives but can't login. Everything seems fine and I have Samba working on my AIX machines. I compiled with NIS+ support even though I am using NIS and it did not work so then I compiled without support and same error. I am using

[LLVMdev] Loops over operands
Hi all, there are about 800 calls to getNumOperands() in lib/. Of course one has to leave out those to MachineInstruction, but nevertheless... A very substantial amount of those calls are in loop contexts, like: for (unsigned i = 1, e = CE->getNumOperands(); i != e; ++i, + +GTI) { ConstantInt *CI = dyn_cast<ConstantInt>(CE->getOperand(i)); ... } Usually the induction variable "i" is not even used, apart from being the argument to getOperand. Now, unless we have a "Sufficiently Smart Compiler (TM)" I doubt that this gets c...

[LLVMdev] LLVM Coverage GCDA Flush API
We do have a gcov "flush" implementation. It should be emitted with the normal coverage code. Is it not showing up? -bw On Feb 5, 2013, at 4:20 PM, John Harrison <ash.gti at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi, > > I ran into the bug/feature request that you cannot flush gcov buffers while the app is running. They are only called when you exit the program, since the flush functions are registered with atexit(). This is the bug report: http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug....

...gram, since the flush functions are registered with atexit(). This is the bug report: http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=12144 I have what I think is a basic implementation of the `__gcov_flush` call, although I called this version `__llvm_gcov_flush`. Here is the diff https://gist.github.com/ashgti/4685743 if anyone would like to see it. So, my question is where should I go from here? Do I need to email the exact patch to llvm-commits? This touches both the llvm and compiler-rt, so I don't know if that changes anything. Thanks, -- John Harrison -------------- next part --------------...

Fragmentation problem: Archive logs on ocfs1 and ocfs2
Hello All, I have few questions around our use of ocfs1/2 for archive logs on 10G RAC. Is there an article out there describing why fragmentation is a special concern for ocfs1/2? Are there ways to remove fragmentation short of rebuilding the fs? Is there a way to estimate how often we will need to rebuild the fs? Any special tools/packages available to handle this issue? Regards, Pradeep.

Newbie SAMBA Printing question
Can SAMBA be used on Solaris9/SUN OS 5.8 to emulate a MicroSoft NetBeui client and thereby print to a print server. I have a printer(ps) that is netbeui only and want to print to it from a Sparc station. lp and lpr are not available by TCP/IP. Please respond off the board(direct-mail) as I'm sure this is too basic for most users and I did not subscribe to list. I did search the archives and

We are trying to generate a video streaming from the graphics content, though it is not easy to find what

params pattern when writing modules
So, I''ve been looking into the params pattern for writing modules, ie. having a params.pp file that init.pp inherits from as a place to use custom logic to set variables, and it seems very useful. I do have one question that I''m hoping someone can answer. If, for example, I look at an example42 module, everything is in params.pp. On the other hand, looking at, say,

[LLVMdev] [Debug Info PATCH] for support of ref_addr and removal of DIE duplication
The first patch seems fine, though the comment on the modified addDIEEntry function is a bit confusing: -/// addDIEEntry - Add a DIE attribute data and value. +/// addDIEEntry - Add a DIE attribute data and value. The form should be +/// a reference form: ref1, ref2, ref4, ref8, ref_udata, ref_addr, +/// or ref_sig8. A form can be chosen inside addDIEEntry. When the comment says "The form
