Screen refresh seems to fail until I move the window
...locks but no dialog box visible until I move the window slightly, when it does a screen refresh and greys out the main window and reveals the pop up box. Running on CentOS 6.5, fully up to date as of Sunday, with nvidia graphics using the kmod packages from elrepo. I also use compiz as my ASUS GT640 PCI-E 2GB graphics card has lots of horse power and run two 22" monitors via DVI cables from the single graphics card. Not sure what else is relevant Not a show stopper, but starting to really bug me. TIA for any ideas. Rob

The system seems to recognize them as shown by the lspci -v output below, but I can't get Xorg to use the second card. Has anyone done this? If so, what is the trick to get it to work?

Although I've always been partial to AMD chips, I'm tempted this time to find something Intel-ish, I5, quad core, or so. In looking at mommyboards at New Egg and Amazon, I find so many I am unable to make reasonable determinations regarding suitability, so am hoping some of

GeForce GTS 250M: no acceleration...
Good day. I am Carlo - living in the Netherlands. Today I came in possession of a MSI-produced barebone laptop - a MS-1656-ID1 (which is equivalent in hardware to the GT640 "gaming" laptop). This laptop comes wih a video card that is identified as follows: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT215 [GeForce GTS 250M] (rev a2) (pci ID 10de:0ca9). For your info, the closed-source Nvidia drivers for Linux also currently ignores this specifi...
