Problem with many files in rsync server directory ?
...s, one for each directory on the server, and between them they copy more than 300MB of data between the machines and they have done it perfectly every day for the last six months. Today one of the jobs started failing when it ran the following command on the client machine: $ rsync offers@sdnvpn::gsh/* . rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(201) The only significant change I can see is that the 'gsh' directory on the server now contains 2380 files, whereas it only contained 2 files yesterday. Of course it might b...

Hi, I''ve been thinking about group membership and the corresponding (weak) restrictions to system resources. Consider the following: % cat > gsh.c main() { system("/bin/sh"); } % cc -o gsh gsh.c % id uid=100(joe) gid=500(users) groups=14(floppy),15(sound) % chgrp sound gsh % chmod g+s gsh % mail abuser Subject: You owe me $5... best parallel / cluster SSH
Hey folks, I stumbled upon this while looking for something else http://www.linux.com/archive/feature/151340 And it is something I could actually really make use of. But right on that site they list 3 different ones, and so I'm wondering what all is out there and what I should use. Is there one that is part of the standard CentOS? thanks, -Alan -- ?Don't eat anything you've

SSH certificates - restricting to host groups
Hello, I am trying to work out the best way to issue SSH certificates in such way that they only allow access to specific usernames *and* only to specific groups of host. As a concrete example: I want Alice to be able to login as "alice" and "www" to machines in group "webserver" (only). Also, I want Bob to be able to login as "bob" and

SSH certificates - restricting to host groups
...ites out a flat file periodically. However, the system which issues the certs needs to be able to do the mapping from OIDC claims to SSH cert principals.? I've just been looking at step-ca and I don't see a way to do that.? I haven't looked at cashier yet, and I only just learned of gsh. Regards, Brian.
