Temp files created on read-only share
...r was anything logged in the Samba logs. Now that we have his Office
configured properly, it's not an issue, but I'm at a loss for an explanation, and the NT guys here
are laughing up their sleeves at this perceived security hole in Linux/Samba.
Thanks very much for any clues.

Win2k and Win9x printer drivers from 2.0.7?
...just file and print services; it
is part of an NT domain, but is not acting as a domain controller.
Authentication is provided by an NT4 box.
Perhaps the only solution is to upgrade to 2.2.3a? If so, are there any
worries about migrating on a Red Hat 6.2 platform?
Thanks in advance.

Samba and OS2 changeover
Here is the deal.. My company is currently running all of there file shares
on an OS2 box that is attached to our as400. This has caused many problems
with the as400 so we are going to move over to using Samba for file storage
/ network run applications. My question is this. I am planning to "clone"
all the shares on our OS2 box with the Samba server that I have created,

Samba + username with spaces_
How does samba handle NT usernames
that contains spaces. Also NT can
have long usernames while Linux can
only have 8-10 character long usernames.
Is there anyway you can map those long
usernames to Linux?
Thanks

how to check open connections/files without smbstatus / swat
Hi,
I have one user who should be able to _view_ all open files and
connections on a samba server.
He should not be allowed to login to the server by telnet or ssh to use
smbstatus, nore should he be able to use swat as long as he could view
the configfile.
So my question: is there a way to configure swat for one user to only
view the opened connections? Or dose someone has an other idea?

Possible bug in 2.0.7?
...al big deal, but would be nice to
have working. Perhaps this feature isn't fully implemented yet? The docs
are
a bit contradictory.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long message. If there is any other
information you need, please let me know. Thanks very much for a great
product.

Nesticle?
Hello, all. Okay - I *know* for a fact that people have gotten the
DirectX version of Nesticle running under WINE - but I can't for the
life of me manage it. The closest I've come is getting the Nesticle
"window" (it's not really a full-fledged window, with widgets and stuff
- just a rectangle in the corner of the screen. Does anyone know a way
to get around that?) to
