Call file always redials (grrrrr)
Hi list!
Our CRM app is creating call files for outgoing calls which is working
great I just have one problem.
I am using this as my call file:
Channel: SIP/228 (my phone)
MaxRetries: 0
Context: from-internal (the context to dial from)
Extension: 003120531234 (the phone number)
Priority: 1
Callerid: Myfinecustomer <003120531234>
so the external number is connected to my sip phone. However

Stuck. Extenions.conf? Realtime? MySQL? Grrrrr!
Boy, am I stuck...
I'm officially ready to toss Asterisk out the window. I have to admit it isn't necessarily all the fault of Asterisk either. It just seems that every option I turn to suddenly ends in failure. I don't know if it's me that's bitten of more than I can chew with this project, or maybe Asterisk just isn't mature enough yet.
Nothing complicated really....

Removing Everyone Can Print Permission
I can navigate to a printer on our print server and right click, go the
securities tab, click "Advanced", select the 'Allow\Everyone\Print' line
and click "Remove". It goes away, without errors. If I click apply it
comes right back (grrrrr....).
Can one set ACLs on printer queues (cups backend)? I'm almost 99%
certain I've done this in the past.

mysql
Hello,
Does dovecot require mysql in order to work? Fedora rpms are claiming
mysql dependencies.
I'm sure you're aware of the long-lived arguement of postgresql v. mysql.
If it wasn't your intention to force this, then please snarl at Red Hat.
If it was your intention, then grrrrr!
Thanks for this product. I like it for it's speed and stability.

URLS and Human Factors
...www.library.com/read/chapter/19. Chapter whatever (I''d
given up on that part), but how does it know what book I''m reading? I
cut and paste the URL into a completely different browser, and in
disbelief, saw the correct page load. How on earth did it know what
book I was reading? Grrrrr!
From a RoR developer''s standpoint, these links make sense. It is
requesting information by passing a unique id.
From a user''s standpoint, these kind of URLs are
confusing/misleading/counter-intuitive.
My question: is there a way to write the controller (perhaps by

wifi cluelessness
The nice folks at work have just provided me with a new, really spiffy,
ThinkPad. So, I''m trying to get wireless working under CentOS4 and I''m
having trouble. First, I can''t seem to find any rpms to just install
(this would be really nice). And, second, when I try to build it from the
src.rpm that I pulled from the atrpms repository with "rpmbuild

Hi folks,
Let me start off by saying I''ve just been following wxruby development
for two or three days now and have read up on alot on what has been
going on. I must say I''m impressed and happy about all the things being
developed and created by you guys! You got me all excited and I know I''m
not the only one. If I have an opportunity to spend more time

to over-heating. There were insufficient back-ups (mea culpa, kyrie
eleison). The customer database was devastated, all the new Samba
multi-workgroup sources were gone, half of the web-pages were lost, and the
Internet gateway was down for four days. This happened at the worst time
(Murphy <grrrrr>), during a hardware upgrade of the master NOC workstation
and while a new server was being added. Worse, when bringing the domain up,
in crippled-mode, we had a 30 minute power-outage (thanks PG&E) and I saw

RJS error in internet explorer
hey all,
got a rails app i''m finishing up. i have a little ajax on one of my
pages where the person can choose a doctor from a drop down list and if
the doctor isn''t there they can click a link which blinds down a little
form to add a doctor. after they submit that mini-form the page updates
the div which houses the drop-down so the doctor shows up. works very
nicely IN FIREFOX.

Config Revision Control
Has anyone got any neat solutions for Asterisk .conf file revision control?
We have multiple Asterisk boxes here, that we'd like to maintain a _mostly_ common set of conf files on. They aren't all the same though. There's subtle differences. For example, in sip.conf, iax.conf etc, the bindaddr setting is different. Dundi.conf is very different between each system.
At the moment I

If you still have a backup of /etc from the Ubuntu install, there might be some clues in /etc/cups about the duplex settings (or which drivers support duplex,

[PATCH 0/5] Collected vdso/vsyscall fixes for 3.1
This fixes various problems that cropped up with the vdso patches.
- Patch 1 fixes an information leak to userspace.
- Patches 2 and 3 fix the kernel build on gold.
- Patches 4 and 5 fix Xen (I hope).
Konrad, could you could test these on Xen and run 'test_vsyscall test' [1]?
I don't have a usable Xen setup.
Also, I'd appreciate a review of patches 4 and 5 from some
