FreeBSD and Winbind
...FreeBSD? From what I have read so far, I am guessing these should be copied to /usr/lib. I have run ldconfig and it shows (using -r) libnss_winbind.so.1 and libnss_winbind.so.2 being listed in the hints file. My nsswitch has the following configuration passwd: files winbind group: files winbind group_compat: nis hosts: files dns networks: files passwd_compat: nis shells: files Any suggestions concerning how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jay

Solaris nss_ldap vs PADL nss_ldap
Hi All, Any thoughts on why, while everything seems ok at the OS level (getent , id -a ) Samba doesn't pickup any supplementary groups when Solaris is configured with 'group: files ldap' in nsswitch.conf and using it's own native nss_ldap.so.1 but does when using PADL's nss_ldap? Everything else is equal. Do they use/accept different calls or could it be an

upgraded to samba-3.0.23c = continous password prompts on shares
Since upgrading to samba 3.0.23c when I try and access the samba shares it continually prompts me for a username and password. The samba server has been joined to a win2k3 domain and should be allowing access based on the windows domain accounts like it used to be doing, but that is no longer working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Elvar
