Whine in dual core Windows PC if R uses full CPU capacity

simulation is slower).
Does anyone have any idea – or hints regarding what else I could think about ?

R CMD check: problems possibly from mapply?
Dear expeRts,
I am trying to wrap up a package "utilities" (for my internal use). After
adding a function datNAtreat that uses mapply, R CMD check gives WARNINGs
for "S3 generic/method consistency", "checking replacement functions"
and?"checking foreign function calls", all of which are accompanied by the
following error message:

Method for $
Dear R experts,
I have defined a class "myclass" and would like the slots to be extractable
not only by "@" but also by "$". I now try to write a method for "$" that
simply executes the request object at slotname, whenever someone calls
object$slotname for any object of class "myclass".
I don't manage to find out how I can provide this

calc.relimp pmvd for US R-user
Dear All:
I am calculating the relative importance of a regressor in a linear model.
Does anyone know how I can obtain/install the 'pmvd' computation type? I am
a US user.
Regards,

Cannot activate chm help in R 2.10
Dear all,
I just tried to be fast for once, installed R 2.10 and also newly installed
all previously-installed packages. However, now all my help files are text
only, which is of course a pity with the new possibilities of links between
help pages. What can I do to re-activate chm-help? chm-help does not work
for anything, not even base functionality.
My system is Windows XP, German locale

Hello,
I would like to know what it means, when the hier.part's output has a data

this can be caused.
Thank you very much.

Question regarding lu in package Matrix
Dear R-helpers,
I have a question regarding LU-decomposition with function lu in package
Matrix. The following simple example confuses me: Why is as.matrix(elu$U)
not an upper triangular matrix?
u3 <-

elu <- expand(lu(Matrix(u3,sparse=F)))
as.matrix(elu$U)
I only have very limited experience with the

Link to pdf documentation from other package ?
Dear developeRs,
I have not found anything recent about how to link to a vignette or other
documentation from within Rd-files. Is this now possible with the new help
system ? For example, I would like to link to the file AlgDesign.pdf
provided within the doc directory of package AlgDesign.
Thanks for any suggestions,
regards, Ulrike

Bug in str or issue with class management in my package?
Dear developeRs,
with R 2.4.1 (and also 2.4.0), the function str() fails on objects of class
relimplmbooteval, if there are unused slots, which is very often the case. I
am not sure whether this is a bug in str() or a correct behavior of str()
that unmasks some sloppiness in my usage of S4 classes (that I am not aware
of)?
Reproducible example (package relaimpo needed):

Problem with correct usage of formula environment
Dear all,
I am working on a function formula.design that should automatically generate
reasonable lm formulae for a number of different designs. All works well as
long as all variables used are columns of the design data frame. For one
function, I would like to incorporate a dummy variable for center points
that is not a column of the design. Without this function, it would work
like this (at
