sp package coordinates and gridded problems with as.list()
...t) = ~x+y
gridded(datapoint)=TRUE
value<-as.list(1:100)
for (i in 1:100) value [[i]]= abc[[i]]@data[overlay(abc[[i]], datapoint),]
then I will have a list of 100 "value" for each original dataframe
I would be appreciative if someone could tell me how I can allocate
coordinate and grided systems to an dataframes which are as.list.
I hope that is comprehendable and someone can help. I am very stuck
many thanks Sylvestre

Preparing for multi-core CPUs and parallel processing applications
...e aware of ?
5) Can we take advantage of sharing the graphics CPU, via R CUDA, in a
parallel distributed shared cluster of dedicated machines ?
6) Our statistical analysis and modeling applications address very large
geographic issues. We generally work with 30-40 year daily time step data
in a grided format. The grid is approximate 250 x 400 cells in extent, each
representing approximately 500 meters x 500 meters. To this we a very
large suite of ancillary information, both spatial and non-spatial, to
simulate a variety of ecological state conditions. My question is - is
this too large for R...

Mantel's randomization test
Dear all,
Dose anyone know whether there is a good R packege or
program for Mantel's randomization test?
Thanks in advance.

re: Spatial stats: R vs. Splus
Hello,
Could someone tell me whether the spatial statistics module of
Splus is worth the rather high price, or whether one could (with
reasonable effort) carry out the same things using R and some of
its contributed packages.
Although we do have Splus (Windows and Unix), we definitely prefer
to use R whenever feasible (both for research and teaching).
Thanks for developing a superb
