admin users' file is owned by root
Hi there,
I just found that if an user is assigned in the "admin users", and if the
user grab a file from window to samba share, the file will be owned by root
from unix view. I am believing this is a bug.
The samba version I am using is 2.2.4.

Some notes...(and a compliment for Samba people)
...ver\* as far as directory structure (a light
flicked on here...why doesn't the documentation say this clearly?)
- AD should be in mixed mode (we were anyway...mixed mode means support for
pre-win2k machines, but may do other things)
Once again, thanks to John for an excellent, helpful call.

Red Code, Nimbda et. al
Hello, we are interested to learn how Shorewall can be configured to look
into a packet''s payload, say to look for footprints of Red Code or Nimbda
(for example). From the site web page features section we understand
Shorewall only looks into the packet''s header.
Your enlightening answer will be appreciated.
Regards
Jose.

I will pay you $10US (via Paypal) out of my own pocke t if you can solve this CUPS & Samba problem.
Nope, doesn't work, and I need the drivers to be available and read from the
linux server. The PPD files do contain one which is specific to my printer
and has worked on another machine.

I have a setup that creates letsencrypt certs for each customer domain.
To automate this I have the following at the end of conf.d/10-ssl.conf
!include ssl.d/*.conf
This includes any .conf file under conf.d/ssl.d
Now it is a simple matter to add and remove certificates for each

scp hangs
Hello,
When running scp (from openssh-3.4p1) on our linux systems we are
experiencing hangs after authentication. According to the debug
messages, authentication succeeds but the file itself is not
transferred. Openssh is built using OpenSSL 0.9.6d.
The command
scp foo 192.168.1.111:/tmp
will hang until the connection times out.
Below are the client and server side logs. An strace of the

Network Redesign
First off, let me say thanks to Mr. Eastep for such a solid and easy to
use package. Seawall was the only ipchains ''package'' firewall I ever
considered using, and Shorewall has been my first venture into the world
of iptables. The deployment I have just completed (and now need to redo
due to client requirement changes) was 100% straightforward and has been
working flawlessly for
