is this trellis device or standard graphics device?
OK, here is the issue:
I have a graphcis device (say X11) which I can set as active by
dev.set(n). Is there ANY way to identify/infer whether this X11 device
was obtained from a lattice function (like xyplot, levelplot...) or a
standard function (like plot, scatterplot,...).
A related question is whether plot.new (or frame) was called t...

pointsize in png graphics
...The outcome though is
completely different. It seems that the definition of the size of one point
is different in the two plots as the graphics with 4 plots and color table
has smaller fonts and smaller margins. What do I have to do to be sure the
size of the fonts is the same in two different png graphcis of exactly the
same size when the pointsize is the same?
I'm working with Windows XP and tried both running the R script as a batch
job and running it within Emacs with ESS.

Italicize Greek symbols in axis
Hello there,
Is there any way to italicize Greek symbols such as mu in axis? From the help
files of mathematical anotations: "Note that bold, italic and bolditalic do not
apply to symbols, and hence not to the Greek symbols such as mu which are
displayed in the symbol font. They also do not apply to numeric constants.", it
seems that it cannot be done.
Thanks,

What solutions are available to provide a completely secure display
system so that users can be sure that what they see on screen is what
they are supposed to see, and that no-one can eavesdrop on what''s being

R graph into MS Word: which format to use?
Hello,
The journal I am publishing in requires MS Word files. What is my best
option for getting a high quality image of a graph done in R into Word?
JPEG? Postscript?
Thanks.

Crysis on Wine? Works... kinda? help?
...just works, with every PC!
I first started using it for my Java servers. It was phenomenal, no issues, extremely fast. Then I eventually switched my main OS to puppy.
I modded and played a game called 'Minecraft', another java based game... That was also, phenomenal. My suped up Nvidia graphcis card served well. Then I started to get into windows gaming with wine. It took me a while to realize I had to map my CD drive to get my disks to work, but so far i've gotten a few to work.
WinRAR - Not a game, but extremely useful. Work phenomenal .
Age of Empires 3 - Microsoft disk game,...
