Unfortunately, this requires manual grafting, since git-svn does
really bad job here.
I'm going to work on this tonight.

suggestion: directory promotion to filesystem
...sorted downloads. A few months later I realise it would be so much nicer to be able to snapshot my movies and photos seperatly for backups, instead of doing the whole share.
Not hard to work around - zfs create and a mv/tar command and it is done... some time later. If there was say a "zfs graft <directory> <newfs>" command, you could just break of the directory as a new filesystem and away you go - no copying, no risking cleaning up the wrong files etc.
Corollary - zfs "merge" - take a filesystem and merge it into an existing filesystem.
Just a thought - any c...

Rails on lighttpd through proxy
Hi All,
We have a PHP site running on apache 1.3 and Im trying to graft typo
onto it at /blog/. Ive got the running using the symlink method but
apache/fastcgi are clunky to say the least so I want to move typo over
to lighttpd. Ive got this all working and Im now trying to get a
proxy working through from apache. Im using this:

strange matching: maybe a multilanguage collation problem?
Hi,
We''re using Ferret in a slightly unorthodox way: We''re indexing a
large (>100,000) list of names of places all around the world. Mostly
we''re quite happy with it, and have been able to graft on our own
particular required functionality with just a little tweaking.
There''s one strange problem, though: We''ve got a place in Cyprus
called "Gazima\304\237usa" (that \304\237 is a multibyte character in
UTF-8), and it matches a search for "usa". We...

USB ISO for CentOS 8
I did the dd of the ISO to a 16G USB device.
the second partition is FAT so I can edit it - I want to make a custom menu
entry.
I edited the grub.cfg - but that did not work - my menu option does not
show.
Then I think I need to change BOOT.cfg and generate the grub.cfg - but I
dont know
in this case how to generate for the USB device.
What command do I use for that ?
Thanks,
Jerry

FW: Multi-Level Fallbacks
...lient would be moved back to mount1 and the same for mount2.
I haven't tested the 2.1.0 release, so I don't know how it behaves when you
configure multiple mounts to fallback to the same fallback mount. Anyone
care to comment?
If there is enough interest I am willing to spend some time to graft the
2.1-trunk patch onto the 2.1.0 release.
Cheers,
Klaas Jan

I have a builder that does this today. When are you checking your
stuff into the LLVM repository? I'd like to graft my stuff onto that.

SAMBA Issues
>

is like it's been grafted on from a Windows world. Fine for NAS stuff. But
for editing system files, is look into an SFTP or SSH GUI client for macOS.
Also, SELinux requires dirs/files labeled with samba_share_t which is not
how any system files should be labeled.

See thread "Moving Maildir folders"
The problem is to prune and graft some branches of the [Maildir] folder
structure between users.
For instance, when a user leaves an organization, some of their mailboxes must
ne copied/moved to varius coleagues in order to ensure business continuity

[LLVMdev] git branch release_31
...177308-0d34-0410-b5e6-96231b3b80d8
we can ask git to consider bdcfb7663a2a62fd52a14dbeaa076423c719ec2d as
the parent of 0d2807ae7060f6b0ffdf65b8606b2a6c61e1018a like this:
# cd llvm
# echo "0d2807ae7060f6b0ffdf65b8606b2a6c61e1018a
bdcfb7663a2a62fd52a14dbeaa076423c719ec2d" > .git/info/grafts
and then we can make this change permanent by rewriting the commits
in the release_31 branch:
# git filter-branch --

[LLVMdev] BuildBot Upgrade
Hi all,
Our buildbot at:
http://google1.osuosl.org:8011/
has been upgraded (it is also now linked from the front page). It has
a number of handy new features:
1. I imported the 'console' view used by Chromium into our version of
buildbot. You can see it here:
http://google1.osuosl.org:8011/console
This is experimental, but it seems to work well and once you learn to
read it it is

New Book on "Linux Filesystems"
...on my recently-published book on "Linux Filesystems". This book
discusses the use, theory, and installation/integration of journaling
and distributed filesystems on Linux, and also discusses what I call
'filesystem adapters' - things like Samba, the NCP tools, and netatalk,
which graft together existing filesystems from multiple platforms. The
book talks about the Ext3, JFS, the ReiserFS, and XFS journaling
filesystems (overview, patching the kernel, administering, using, etc.).
It also talks about OpenAFS and NFS.I also give some benchmark results
(Bonnie, Postmark, etc.) to do...

Tiger OS X darwin ports problem with readline
...>
Error: Target com.apple.fetch returned: fetch failed

mac:~ mac$
I did find a readline tar-ball here:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/readline/readline-5.1.tar.gz
I was able to install it by hand with no problem.
Is there any way I can graft it on to /opt/local so that ports [ ruby
for example ],
which depend on it can get installed?
Thanks,

[HTB] htb_dequeue_tree assertion (kernel 2.4.21-ac4)
Hello,
I think the BUG_TRAP() in the htb_dequeue_tree() is wrong. First it
checks if the class pointer "cl" is NULL, which is obviously right. But
I do not understand why we also check whenever the queue length of the
leaf queue is zero "cl->un.leaf.q->q.qlen". I would have put that in the
expression of the "if" statements that comes afterwards. A queue
