cdrecord Error (Permissions?)
...g a few forums) I've failed to turn up exactly what the permissions should be or if that is even an accurate solution. When running k3b I get an error stating that cdrecord did not exit properly. And k3b will not burn a cd. Running cdrecord from the command line as such: /usr/bin/cdrecord -v gracetime=2 dev=/dev/hdd speed=40 -dao driveropts=burnfree -eject -data /home/fakeuser/cdimage.iso I am met with a Segmentation fault. There is no other error obviously. Any ideas? I'm running this as a regular user. Root does not encounter this problem. So the iso is perfectly fine. I am under the as...

Initialising UPS variables from ups.conf
...driver = usbhid-ups port = auto desc = "Eaton Evolution S 3000" vendorid = 0463 productid = ffff ups.delay.shutdown = 120 ups.delay.start = 130 The reason I ask is that I'm using FreeBSD & gmirror and need to extend the gracetime for the system to shutdown. For the moment, I've created a custom shutdown script that is set in upsmon.conf that does the job. #!/usr/local/bin/bash /usr/local/bin/upsrw -s ups.delay.start=130 -u haltuser -p somepassword evo_s_3000 /usr/local/bin/upsrw -s ups.delay.shutdown=120 -u haltuser...

But when I do the slightest modification to the isolinux.cfg, the generated CD hans even before the boot menu is presented. For example, even the following modification will cause the CD to hang: --- cus...

Boot from CD
I am running CentOS 5.5 and I want to create a boot CD so that if my boot partition is moved I can still boot from the boot CD and re-initialize grub again. Is there some easy to use utility which will enable me to do this ?

Natulius CD burner does not accept my 700Mb CD-R disks
When I try to burn anything to cd, I get a message to insert a CD large enough for my file (normally an ISO image). Doesn't matter if the iso image is a 600Mb Centos ISO or a 48Mb DSL ISO. Same warning. My CD-Rs are Memorex 700MB/80min 52x disks that work just fine on XP systems. So what am I missing configuration-wise?
