I have a Garmin 78s marine GPS receiver and it stores tracks in GPX format. This is an XML encoded set of points giving longitude, latitude, time and sea depth. Garmin support viewing this via their Garmin Express product, but there only seem to be Windows and Mac versions. I've emailed them and await a reply. In the mean time, does anyone know of any Linux...

At one point in time I wrote a script that converted gpx to kml so I could view them in Google Earth but it's been years since I did that. I don't know if Google Earth for Linux still exists. Thanks for the suggestions. I'd seen gpsbabel, but simply converting the tracks doesn't appear to display them. Another user suggested a downloadable Google Earth, so I'll try that. Failing all else, I've used shell scripting in my day job for the last 18 years (and before that Digital's DCL for the previous 18 years). I'm just trying to avoid reinventing the wheel.

I can tell when this extension is available, is being rung, or is on the line. I'd like to do the same for my Zaptel channels, to be able to see when a line is onhook, ringing or offhook. I tr...

Hi All, I''m having a problem with a simple file upload page. I''ve narrowed it down to the enctype attribute of the form tag. cheap HFC card on Bristuff vs cheap HFC card on i4l vs Fritz ISDN BRI card on CAPI
Hello I have asterisk running in Red Hat 9 with a cheap HFC card on i4l. I have choppy sound problems sometimes, and echo problems often. I am using a 2 port Grandstream ATA, Grandstream BT and a Grandstream GPX-2000 I read that changing to BriStuff will fix the echo problems, but have also read other users say that the only way they solved the echo/choppy sound problems was using a Fritz ISDN card with the CAPI drivers... I have tried using bristuff on RH9 but couldn't get my zaptel to compile......

Problems if GXP-2000 phones and Asterisk are not on the same network
Hi, I have a lot of GXP-2000 phones not registering with Asterisk server. After two days of attempts, it seems that problem is due to the fact that phones and server are not on the sme network. Do you know if this is known issue? -- Domenico Viggiani

Snom phones?
Hi, everyone: I'm in the processing of deciding what IP phones we should use with our Asterisk server, and I wanted to get feedback from the user community on the quality, reliability and ease of operation of Snom phones. What do you have to say about these phones? Are there other phones you'd suggest along with or instead of Snom? Thanks, -Stephen-

Is r2u at 3.4.1? [branch about handling package collisions under Ubuntu/Debian]
...s on the nail question: > (Also: how come there are two libmagick++-dev, ie why do you have a 2nd one, > ie do you know which additional repo you turned on?) Exactly!!! The weird thing is is that it was weeks back that I added a repo., or I think I did, probably more than one about handling gpx files in Ubuntu/Debian. But that was weeks before this started and as you see from that apt-cache policy (if I understand it correctly), the repos involved seem to be the mainstream ones. That's true when I do apt-cache policy on any of the packages that are being complained about. aptitu...
