CentOS 7 AMI on AWS GovCloud region
Hi,
I'm working on building a cluster on AWS atop CentOS 7. For development,
I've been working in the eu-west-1 (Ireland) region, where the AWS
MarketPlace provides an official CentOS 7 AMI (ami-e4ff5c93). However, the
production deployment is taking place in AWS's GovCloud region for
regulatory reasons, and there, I couldn't find an official CentOS 7 AMI.
Are there plans to provide an official CentOS 7 AMI for the GovCloud soon?
Or instructions on how the official AMIs are built? I'm happy to help
build an AMI for public use following the instructions if so...

How to build CentOS 7 AMI
...y be unaware of this limitation.
I would also appreciate being able to have the additional transparency of
seeing how an AWS AMI is created as the docker/openstack/etc images from
the repository referenced above. This would be useful in environments with
regulatory compliance concerns, such as AWS GovCloud, HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc.
I understand the benefit that Marketplace registrations allow for the
ability to notify users of any changes, and I am not necessarily advocating
for switching away from the Marketplace as the primary AMI location. I
would like to be provided the opportunity to build a privat...
