can use use observe_field with a 3rd party server?
Hi- I''m trying to implement an auto-complete using Yahoo''s autocomplete server, which basically suggests search completions: http://ff.search.yahoo.com/gossip?output=fxjson&command={your searchterms}'' if you want to see the results in your browser, use xml instead: http://ff.search.yahoo.com/gossip?output=xml&command={your searchterms}'' So, I can

Story Runner, autoincrementing
I''ve written a story and I run into a snag. I''ve written the create_forum method and told it to set the id to 1 but when it creates the forum the id is autoincremented. My forums table is empty but the id keeps incrementing the newest record on creation. When I run the story it comes out as something like 59 which fails my story because I''m asking it to look at /forums/1

Linear Mixed Models with nlme, more than one random effect
Hi, I' trying to learn how to use lme for Linear Mixed Models and I have a problem when I have to include more than one random effect in my model. I know that this could be a stupid question to ask, but I'm not able to solve it by myself... One example: if my model is response = operator + block + day with operator and block as fixed effects and day as random effect, I use res.lme

in_place_collection_editor
Hi, I''m trying to write a helper for Scriptaculous'' InPlaceCollectionEditor component. I''ve already submitted a patch (http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/4302). This was a drunk patch; it needs a bit of work (Don''t drink & code!). So far I''ve gotten it to work correctly with normal collections, but I want to use it for belongs_to relations as

Is there any way to use more than one color or shape in the same plot. I would like to make the points different colors for various levels of a variable. I have tried a simple 'if' statement in the plot command, but I get an error message. Here is what I have tried and the error message I get: > plot(test, if(test[,1]<8) col="steelblue2" else col="wheat2")Error

IAX/SIP to germany with own callerid?
Hi, does someone knows a IAX2 provider that allows to freely set the USER_NUMBER to the german pstn? It's no problem if setting the NETWORK_NUMBER is restricted, i'm using this for call-forwarding with the correct number, not something illegal... (i'm not sure about the terminology here, but i think USER_NUMBER is callerid and NETWORK_NUMBER is ANI in the US, correct?)

H323 - SIP Interoperability
Hi there, I would like to communicate H323 IP phones with SIP phones. My H323 phones are registered to a gnugk GK, and the SIP phones are registered to a asterisk SIP proxy. I could not create a dialplan that works. Inside my extensions.conf file I created the following two entrances: exten => 4,1,Dial(SIP/4) exten => 5,1,Dial(SIP/5) This allows SIP phones call each other.
