Gosa (was: user management )
This looks VERY interesting!!!
As for the requirements for a latter version of PHP, is this for every
host? Or just the management host?
I'm not opposed to running a recent copy of Fedora Core for this. Or
not even opposed to using a more recent version of PHP than is in the...

http://www.brucalipto.org/linux/how-to-install-gosa-on-rhelcentos-5
If you see errors on what I wrote please let me know and I will

Hope someone will find this useful.

ldap administration tool??
...culty I'm having is that it is recommended to install from rpm.
Our samba servers are gentoo distributions and hence not rpm
distributions. I attemted installing from source but after a good few
hours of effort ran into some difficulty that I figured may take more
time than I have to resolve.
Gosa:
https://gosa.gonicus.de/
I've gotten this to work, somewhat. It required me to change my tree
structure slightly but it is running. It also requires the addition of
objectclasses in ldap which I had difficulty finding documentation for.
It also behaves in such a way that when I edit a user w...

Extending the AD schema - Cannot see attributes in RSAT
Hy Guys,
I am trying to migrate to samba 4 and I need some help. So, I have a samba
running with samba 3 and LDAP. Today I use my samba for auth of my e-mail,
file server and several other applications. I use a WEB based LDAP
administration program called goSA.
I have Installed samba 4.8.4 on a test machine and create some users, the
problem is, to keep my email and all functionality that I have today, I
need to create some classes and attributes in samba.
Before you ask, I have set the 'dsdb:schema update allowed = true' on
smb.conf, I could c...

Management tool for Samba 4 classic with openldap
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I know this is only a peripheral samba question, but I think people
here might know and maybe it could be of interest to others. :)
I've got a Samba 4 in classic mode with openldap backend and am using
GOsa to manage the users. The openldap is also backend for all the
other services, like mail, web and so on.
Now my question is, do you know an alternative management tool for
that? I find GOsa cumbersome when adding more schemas and adding your
own fields into the LDAP. I would totally like a general...

user management solution needed
Hey folks,
What is the best way to manage users across multiple CentOS boxes?
Ideally what I'd like to be able to do is have central control over
who has access to which box from a minute-to-minute basis. e.g. User
X needs access to Box A for 30 minutes - clickity, clickity and they
have access for that long after which their access is automatically
turned off.
thanks,

Samba Group issues - LDAP
Hi all,
Not exactly sure what's the problem here. I use GoSA
(https://gosa.gonicus.de/) to create users in our LDAP system, and
lately when I create new users they don't have any Group associations
in Samba.
I have a bunch of groups in the LDAP tree as well as users. The
server uses libnss_ldap and pam_ldap to access the ldap tree.
If use do getent gr...
