Asterisk and XMPP (Jabber) : testing new application JabberReceive
...plan application is now available for testing :

The corresponding feature request is located here :

What can you do with it? Well, a direct usage of this application is
to make an easy to use GoogleTalk voice gateway out of Asterisk. Here
is an example (assuming the asterisk-xmpp account is configured) :
context gtalk-in {
s => {
NoOp(Caller id : ${CALLERID(all)});

Googletalk Plugin on CentOS 6.6 x86-64 help
...e-talkplugin-5.40.2.0-1.x86_64
(/google-talkplugin_current_x86_64)
Requires: libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.15)(64bit)
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
[root at peach RPM_REPO]#
Is there any work around to get googletalk working on CentOS 6.6?

Codec Selection
Hi,
I have 2 g729 licences - what I want to do is use g729 by default but if
I get more than 2 calls at a time, use gsm for the others.
So, I put this on all my sip providers:
disallow=all
allow=g729
allow=gsm
However, this just seems to use gsm for everything. If I comment out the
gsm line, it then uses g729.
I thought it would use the codec's in the order they are allowed - is
this

If that was the problem (which it seems to be), is that the wrong
default? Or am I missing something here completely?

gtalk dialstring?
Hi everyone!
I couldn't find anything expressive about gtalk dialstrings. It doesn't seem
to work. I'm not sure why, so I'll start at the easiest point.
The syntax I found was:
gtalk/my_account_name/buddys_account_name at gmail.com
Is this correct?
And does any of you googletalkers know, if a simple google-mail account is
enough to use the talking bit, or do I have to register in the googletalk
software again?
Oh btw. Here's my error:
bach >> [Oct 25 21:18:11] ERROR[28847]: chan_gtalk.c:908
gtalk_alloc: no gtalk capable clients to talk to.

jingle/gtalk still very troubling
Hi!
I just tried to call a friend using jingle, but I got refused. Errorcode was
502, he tried to call me, heard it ringing once and then it stopped.
I used:
originate jingle/gtalk_account/friend at jabber.linuxlovers.at [application]
I'm registered to googletalk, but this should mean no harm, or should it.
Once I was able to receive a text-message from him, but couldn't respond, I
don't know how to. Remember I use asterisk only, no soft- or hardphone.
Does anyone have suggestions, where to look, what to try?
Kindest regards
Julie...

gtalk2voip and Asterisk
...ringing. again, the call was established, and audio was ok.
as far as asterisk is concerned, this is a SIP call. bottomline - it's a
good alternative to using the native jabber/jingle library in asterisk 1.4 .
in fact, i haven't been able to get asterisk to successfully set up a call
to googletalk using the chan_gtalk module . i am inside a NAT-ed LAN, and
audio works in one direction only for the asterisk (SIP) - gtalk call.
anyone else got asterisk - googletalk using chan_gtalk working?

Skype purchased by Ebay 2.6 Billion
Good news for service providers in my opinion, Ebay will likely start
alienating Skype users like they did with Paypal users.

jingle with Asterisk + PSTN
Hi All
I am developing a client that uses libjingle to do xmpp stuff with
ejabberd. I can also make audio calls between those clients. What I am
trying to archive now is to send calls to pstn using jingle. I was
told in the jingle-dev community that asterisk can do that.
Is there any way to send jingle audio calls to asterisk and will it
understand them ? If yes..can I forward those calls to PSTN

State of JACK support i9n Asterisk
Hello everyone!
I haven't seen anything new about the JACK support in Asterisk and I was
wondering, if anyone has experience with a current release of Asterisk, JACK
and mISDN/googletalk etc. I'm thinking of installing a new version
(havingcurrently 1.60-beta9. But the excercise would be pointless, if it
doesn't help.
Kindly yours
