Breakage on Debian unstable, be careful with upgrades
Ben Goodrich alerted me to some breakage coming from read.dcf() meaning you can no longer install or upgrade R packages. ChenLiang Xu was eagle-eyed and related this to gzfile() and he and Johannes Fichting confirmed that a downgrade to zlib1g from testing fixes things. Ben already filed a Debian bug report...

Migrating samba 2.x PDC to new machine and samba 3.x PDC
...samba 2.x, I can't use net rpc vampire to migrate the accounts over. Does anyone have any idea what other thing(s) I can change to get the hash to produce the same way on both servers? I believe this to be my last hurdle in what should be a very nice improvement to our LAN. Bug#454678: r-base-core: Crash when calling edit.matrix with edit.row.names = TRUE when there are no rownames (PR#10500)
...s for the bug report. I am off two minds about it as discussed below. But as it does indeed create a crash / segfault, I am passing this on to the R bug tracker. Introduce yourself and your project -- Round 2
On December 14th, 2004 David Heinemeier Hansson sent this to the mailing list: I''m seeing a lot of new names on the list. Could we perhaps do a round of introductions? That would also be a great first post, if you haven''t had a chance to contribute yet. The basics should include your name, your organization, your country and city, and the project you''re
