ui and ci explanatory documentation
...get a response on this question from last year (Jan 2008)?
I am also looking for more explanatory documentation on the
ui and ci parameters for the function constrOptim().
The examples provided in the R help and the full reference
manual are not working for me. Goodle and Nabble searches have not resulted
in any explanation that reads like a manual.
How are ui and ci applied to the function passed into
constrOptim()? How can ui and ci be written such that some but not all of
the parameters (the first argument of the function call) are constrai...

Eliminating "offline caching" events on XP workstatons?
Our XP SP1 (patched with everything but SP2) workstations are logging
events like:
"Windows has detected that offline caching is enabled on the roaming
profile share - to avoid profile corruption (etc.)"
Following some goodle threads this was added to smb.conf (attached)
csc policy = disable
but the event still occurs, although only when something has been
saved to the profile before exiting. For instance, toggling the
start menu into or out of "classic" mode.

ZFS, power failures, and UPSes
Hello,
I''ve looked around Google and the zfs-discuss archives but have not been
able to find a good answer to this question (and the related questions
that follow it):
How well does ZFS handle unexpected power failures? (e.g. environmental
power failures, power supply dying, etc.)
Does it consistently gracefully recover?
Should having a UPS be considered a (strong) recommendation or
