Winbind and net -t failure
I posted about a winbind/PAM issue earlier and discovered that the auth
portion of pam_winbind is what was causing my failures. I receive the
following message when trying to authenticate sshd or login with the auth

[Bug 13147] New: inconsistent behaviour regaring vanished files information
...Hardware: x64
OS: Mac OS X
Status: NEW
Severity: minor
Priority: P5

Assignee: wayned at samba.org
Reporter: devzero at web.de

i found that for our osx host "gonzo" , vanished files (not the warning message
itself) appear in stdout - for linux hosts they _both_ appear in stderr. no
information about vanished files appears in stdout (in my backup script, i´m
redirecting stdout to rsync.log and stderr to rsync.err)

I am running two machines, "gonzo", my home system and "laptop", a

I`m getting "rsync warning: some files vanished before they could be transferred (code 24) at main.c(1518) [generator=3.0.9]" on one of my systems i`m backing up with rsync , but rsync doesn`t show WHICH files.
Does anybody have a clue under which circumstances rsync doesn`t show these ?

To summarize, a prototypical scope nest, from most to least visible (aka least to most cacheable) might look like:

If we wanted to go really gonzo, there could be a Network scope at the beginning for large-scale HPC systems, but I’m not sure how important that is to anyone.
As a related question, do we actually need the local scopes to be target specific? Are there systems, real or planned, that *aren’t* captured by:

freebsd 4.10 and port misc/zaptel
...ng at the current cvs copy of the ports though, the zaptel drivers
are at version 0.7, and the Makefile for the port is marked as "requires
FreeBSD 5.x to build", though the Asterisk FreeBSD wiki at
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-FreeBSD+zaptel and the Changelog at
http://www.portaone.com/~gonzo/ChangeLog say that it can be built on
FreeBSD 4.x
i guess my primary question is, can the ported zaptel drivers work on
4.10 (or 4-STABLE cvsupped a couple of weeks ago) ?

Winbind authentication
Hi everyone,
First of all, could you please CC me, I am not (yet) subscribed to this
list.
Now my problem:
I created a test setup at my office that uses winbind to authenticate linux
users to a Windows NT server (they log in with DOMAIN+username), as described
in the winbindd manpage. I followed their setup completely.

mongrel memory usage ballooning and process stomping
Hi,
I have mongrel 0.3.14, with ruby 1.8.5, rails 1.1.6 and mongrel cluster
0.2.1, on debian sage 3.1 with apache 2.0, and fastthread 0.6.1.
I am load balancing 3 mongrel processes using the random port trick.
When I start mongrel the processes have about 60MB, but after some hour of
usage the memory ballons upto more than 180MB and the site becomes terribly
slow. Forcing me to restart mongrel

[LLVMdev] [RFC][PATCH][OPENCL] synchronization scopes redux
I've not had a good chance to look at the patches in detail, but just to
clarify one point:
I don't really care whether we number things going up or down from single
threaded to "every thread". I just think it makes sense to expose them in
the in-memory IR interface as an enum with a particular ordering so that
code can use the obvious sorts of tests for comparing two orderings
