Sounds like you need to fix the problem at the source first: balancing the levels going *into* your mixing board so that they're not all over the place coming out. You'll never fix that with any hardware or software device. I never had any problems getting my liveice-source streams to list on yp.shoutcast.com using Icecast 1.3.5b1 - though they wouldn't list with later versions. Haven't tried anything since 1.3.7 For a variety of reasons, I started using that 'other' server.
