new IP on an iface and nmb's behaviour
hi everyone,
I observe a peculiar "behaviour" behaviour of nmb, peculiar
to me at least, could be that "this is how it works", thus
asking.
If I add an IP on the iface that nmb is already operating
then I see such a message:
Samba name server GOER is now a local master browser for
workgroup PRIV_NET on subnet 192.168.2.204
204 is that new IP, but then windows boxes do

Histogram colours in lattice.
I am trying to do a histogram lattice plot and I would like the
histogram to be filled with a different colour in each panel.
Note: I want every bar in each histogram to be the same colour,
but that there should be different colours *between* histograms.
Can't seem to get this to work. I thought that something like
the following would be a goer:
set.seed(42)
X <- rnorm(200)
A <-

Powercom BNT-1000CS
Hello. I have recently purchased a Powercom BNT-1000CS(Black Knight CS).
I am new to NUT(and am not a programmer), but I have noticed that this
model does not work with NUT. I am willing to provide details about this
UPS for anyone who would like to add support for it(i dont know how to
get much info though, so you'll have to tell me how). For starters, this
is what happens when I do

Rmath library problems
Hello,
Has anybody successfully called the Rmath library from C using the MS
Visual Studio compiler (I am using Visual Studio 6.0)?
I have compiled the Rmath library using gcc, and the 'test.c' program
(which makes a call to qnorm) works fine when compiled with gcc. However,
I get a fatal memory error when I run it after compiling it with Visual C.
Would this memory problem be related

Domain + Workgroup with same name: problem?
Hello everybody!
I finally managed to set up a Samba 3.0.1 PDC that ran perfectly in the
test-environment. Problems arose, when I installed it in a real bureau
network.
On a prepared w2k client that was already a domain member one could log on to
the domain with the administrator's account, but trying to add other w2k
clients failed with error msgs like: "Domain controller not

MS Word and Samba File Permissions Problem
Hello everybody!
Obviously Samba as a PDC and Fileserver for w2k clients is not as easy as I
first thought.
Soon after setup and integration in a network a problem with the shares and MS
Word appeared.
Any time a file is opened with M$ Word directly from a share and edited it
can't be saved. The M$ user gets the msg that the file is write-protected and
on the samba side the file

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Fix for bug in JIT exception table allocation (no test yet)
Hi, I found a bug in the code that generates exception tables, I've attached
what I think is the correct fix.
When you run out of space writing to a buffer, the buffer management code
simply stops writing at the end of the buffer. It is the responsibility of
the caller to verify that it has stayed in bounds and perform a retry with
a larger memory estimate if not. The function writing code

creating users from w2k with usrmgr and samba 3.0.1
Hello everybody!
New to Samba (and the list) I am trying to set up a Samba PDC for a small
enterprise network on a Debian Woody (3.0) system with a vanilla 2.4.24
kernel and the Debian package of Samba 3.0.1 and Swat (Debian Versions
3.0.1-2).
I ran into various problems and could solve most of them during the past two
weeks (hooray!). Most of the problems were related to congestions of user

Help! messed up user rights with word and samba 3.0.x
Hello everybody!
I need help with a curious problem referring to Word and Samba.
I've installed a network with a Samba 3.0.2 PDC and fileserver and about 8
Windows Clients ranging from w2k prof (members of the domain) to XP home. The
XP Home users have an account within the domain and so can "mount" the Samba
share as a local drive on their computers. All of the users are members
