R-beta: How do I dyn.load in R for Windows95?
...rying this in R it seems that the R dyn.load expects a
directory name
(according to the html help-page) whereas S-Plus expects a file name.
A dyn.load("cat.obj") referencing the file name produces this error
message:
Error in dyn.load(x) : unable to load shared library
"C:\Program\r.gnw\library\cat\cat.obj"
However if I instead make a reference to the directory were my
Fortran file resides R still comes up with an error message:
dyn.load("cat")
Error in dyn.load(x) : unable to load shared library
"C:\Program\r.gnw\library\cat"

I include Guido's README below.
Thanks again to Guido for making this port available!

rgnwbin.tgz and rgnwsrc.tgz are the first results of an attempt to
build R for Win95 and WinNT using egcs-mingw32.
The advantages over the binaries for MsWindows that can be found in CRAN
are:
1. R seems to run faster. Some simple (perhaps too simple)
benchmarks point to a 20% gain.

Many thanks to Peter D. and Ross I. for their suggestions.
If you think that the work is of some interest, I can upload it

function writeClipboard()
Hello,
I am looking for the function writeClipboard() in order to
compile and use it but can't find it neither into R-devel directory
nor in other R directories.
Is this function present or do I search on the wrong place?

getenv() can't differentiate "defined but empty" and "undefined"
getenv(<varname>) currently returns ""
if the <varname> is undefined.
However, if <varname> is defined but empty,
getenv(<varname>) still only returns "".
I think this is quite unfortunate
but consistent with the prototype.

I'd propose to change the current behavior.
Something which should be pretty back compatible would
