I was wondering if there's some formula/heuristic for estimating the packet size average case / worst case given a certain encoder setting (assuming VBR). I'm trying to use OpenBTS with Asterisk. I have two phones that are connecting to OpenBTS correctly, but on the Asterisk side the phones can't call each other. In my opinion, the versions of packages that are supported should be user-needs driven and not so inflexible that, for instance, an easy upgrade of GNURadio to the latest version from the quite old version supported in EPEL7 would be done, simply because most enterprise users of GNURadio are going to need the latest version regardless of the packaging and versioning guidelines. Or, in summary, stability should not be equated with version stagnation...

Hello all, I know that SPEEX has a mechanism to handle packet loss. I see there is some handling for packet loss implemented in speexdec. I want to know, if in my own application should i also implement such packet loss handling or is it taken care of within the decoder?
