[PATCH] xen/gntdev,gntalloc: Remove unneeded VM flags
...pecially is when
using Xen''s PTE modification for grant mappings owned by another domain.
Otherwise, the area does not require VM_DONTCOPY and VM_PFNMAP, since it
can be accessed just like any other page of RAM.

Q on shared_mem and event_channel
Hello,
I think this might have been discussed numerous times on this mailing-list,
if there is a relevant post I can refer to please point that to me. What I
am trying to do is set up a shared memory/event-channels between dom0 and
domU''s via socket calls because I cannot use existing front-end/back-end
driver mechanism since it relies on devices aka vif, vbd type of device to
be created

Bug#695645: xen-utils-common: xm block-attach does not create /dev/xvd* devices on dom0
...r performance.
xm block-attach 0 tap:vmdk:/mnt/backup/3MSYDDP01/3MSYDDP01_2-flat.vmdk /dev/xvda1 w 0
However /dev/xvda1 is not created. I have loaded to following modules for good measure:
modprobe blktap
modprobe xen-blkback
modprobe xen-blkfront
modprobe xen-evtchn
modprobe xenfs
modprobe xen-gntalloc
modprobe xen-gntdev
modprobe xen-netback
modprobe xen-netfront
modprobe xen-pciback
modprobe xen-pcifront
modprobe xen_wdt
And tried manually creating the blokc device beforehand.
mknod /dev/xvda1 b 220 0
I searched for answers and found nothing that suggests that shouldn't work?

xenconsole: Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory
Hello Community,
I encountered an error while running "xm console domU". Here is the running
script:
# xm console domU
xenconsole: Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory
I googled and found out that this issue is mostly result from forgetting
starting xenconsole service.
However, after I started xenconsole, the issue is still there. Please see:

Unable to boot installation ISO
Hi,
I build Xen 4.1.1 on a Gentoo base dom0. Everything is working great. I tried one of Joseph Glanville''s PV-HVM image (debian6) and its working as it should.
Now l''im trying to build a Gentoo based domU with then same specs as Joseph''s PV-HVM.
I used a copy of the .cfg and adapted to my needs to make the gentoo work.
when booting the minimal install image using
