How to use gnfs with 3.11.0 ?
It is componentized in Bug 1326219 and is not available by default.
What package should I install to use gnfs?
I can not find a package named glusterfs - gnfs.
Thank you.

It would help if we knew what distribution you're using. But I guess
you're using CentOS?
The CentOS Storage SIG packages were built without -gnfs by mistake.
I've asked the maintainer to respin the packages with -gnfs enabl...

Gluster/NFS (or gNFS) is the NFS-server that comes with GlusterFS. It is
a NFSv3 server and can only be used to export Gluster volumes.
You can enable it:
- install the glusterfs-gnfs RPM (glusterfs >= 3.11)
- the glusterfs-server RPM might contain the NFS-server (glusterfs < 3.11)
- build with "./config...

Slow write times to gluster disk
Hi Soumya,
I just noticed some of the notes at the bottom. In particular

gluster-NFS to come up. Please disable kernel-NFS server and restart

[Questions] About small files performance
Dear all
Recently, i did some work to test small files performance for gnfsv3

how much has performance improved since 2.x?
Greetings,
I was curious if the 3.x glusterfs has made any significant write
performance headway (especially when dealing with small files). Last
time I was testing 2.x, I had to write glusterfs off due to poor
performance (previous config/performance-stats can be accessed in list
archives if curious). Did anyone notice *dramatic* improvement when
switching to 3.x?
Thanks,
Michael

You may use nfs-ganesha+glusterfs without HA. You need to disable
legacy gluster NFS (gnfs).
The "walk" part of my article at
http://blog.gluster.org/2015/10/linux-scale-out-nfsv4-using-nfs-ganesha-and-glusterfs-one-step-at-a-time
shows how to do this.

About starting nfs-ganesha
When using nfs-ganesha with GlusterFS, is it necessary to enable it with the following command?
# gluster nfs-ganesha enable
It is said that it is necessary to enable nfs-ganesha option when setting ganesha.enable on for volume.
It is said that setting of ganesha-ha.conf is necessary, but is it necessary to set up HA to use nfs-ganesha?
I would be pleased if you could tell me about HA setting

Slow write times to gluster disk
Hi,
We noticed a dramatic slowness when writing to a gluster disk when
compared to writing to an NFS disk. Specifically when using dd (data
duplicator) to write a 4.3 GB file of zeros:
* on NFS disk (/home): 9.5 Gb/s
* on gluster disk (/gdata): 508 Mb/s
The gluser disk is 2 bricks joined together, no replication or anything
else. The hardware is (literally) the same:
* one server with

Lose gnfs connection during test
Hi all
I use Distributed-Replicate(12 x 2 = 24) hot tier plus
Distributed-Replicate(36 x (6 + 2) = 288) cold tier with gluster3.8.4
for performance test. When i set client/server.event-threads as small
values etc 2, it works ok. But if set client/server.event-threads as big
values etc 32, the netconnects will always become un-available during
the test, with following error messages in stree

3.12, ganesha and storhaug
...process for 3.12 in the near future? Or should I only upgrade to 3.10?
Or is it feasible to use the nfs-ganesha 2.5 release with gluster 3.12?
None of the official docs on howto (that I've found) give the method of
config/use that are clearly for the newest ganesha and gluster combo.
Can the gnfs support multiple transport methods?
Granted, I have a conflicted need: the NFS is needed to resolve the
mmap issue (and hopefully do some speed up that the users see) but the
real high-speed need is possibly through pNFS clients to NFS-Ganesha
but those connections will be over infinniband so only...
