Internal DNS CNAME To Amazon Web Services Problem
Hello Samba Mailing List
Well, the companies I contacted about this problem said that they could not help because it was an actual Samba code issue, and not a configuration issue.
I have "got around it" for now by changing the internal CNAME to an A record which points to another in-house server running Apache and then creating a quick internal web site for the www.domain.com in

surprised about that pattern you're describing.
I don't have the spare time to look into your problem, sorry. If you
have the options, you may want to consider using dedicated support:

Member server guide broken
I have been doing this for a while, and I can now say with certainty
that the Samba guide for adding a member server is broken as far as PAM
setup is concerned. When I follow the guide to the T, I can no longer
SSH into the box or even login on the local console. SSH gives me a
successful login, but instead of the MOTD, I get "[host IP] closed the
connection". As soon as I comment

Samba 4.4 userParameters problems
Hi,
I recently upgraded 4.1.8 installation to 4.4.2. As per documentation I ran
samba-tool dbcheck. It reported some problems with userParameters:
ERROR: wrongly formatted userParameters on
CN=,OU=Users,OU=MyBusiness,DC=,DC=local, should not be psudo-UTF8 encoded.
I ran --fix as I read in some discussion that this was actually tested.
The problem after upgrade is, that it is no longer possible

I'm posting this for completeness in case anyone has time/interest to

Thanks for the pointer, we might consider this in the future.

samba4 replication issues | sam.ldb inconsistency
Hi all,
We seem to have some issues with our samba4 ad setup. I posted about
this last week already but had received no replies at all so far. :-(
What is our situation:
two domain controllers (dc1 and dc2), one (separate) fileserver, all
running sernet-4.1.7. From the workstations perspective, everything is
running as it should, there appear to be no issues.
However: something in my

Azure AD Connect
We joined one MS Windows 2012 R2 server to our Samba DC fleet and pointed the Azure AD sync tool to that new Windows AD server and Azure password sync is working well now.
I don?t have any experience with distribution groups.
Good Luck!

Schema Change Breaks Replication
I believe a schema change on a Windows DC (2008rc) has broken
replication with our S4 DCs. Anyone have any tips or pointers to
resolve this?
I have three S4 DCs [CentOS6] and one Windows 2008R2 DC. The Windows
2008R2 DC has the schema master FSMO, and I believe the Exchange schema
was added.
I am willing to pay US dollars to get this issue resolved. I need the
replication restored, the

Howto test upgrades?
Hi,
maybe this thread should ask an even more general question:
How are AD-DC admins supposed to test upgrades? If there is more than
one AD-DC, an upgraded DC which causes problems cannot (must not) be
restored from backup. This is one of the reasons why I do not want to
switch to AD. A PDC *can* simply be restored from backup. It is even
enough to switch back to the previous contents of
