GLME
Hi All,
does anyone know if the package GLME by J. Pinheiro is available anywhere
in any form? checking on the archive I got that it was at some point, as as
a beta version (for S-Plus only, alas)...
Cheers,
Federico

seeking for the GLME-package (Jose Pinheiro)
Hello!
could you give me some advice where i can finde out/recieve/download a
GLME package, written by Jose Pinheiro. i couldn'ti find it in the
package lists (probably becouse it is still in a beta version).
thank you for your replay

correlated data
Hi,
Is there an R library that has the same functionalities of Splus7.0+ library correlatedData?
I'd appreciate any input.

Is there an alternative / better way to test for the significance of
the squared term (i.e., other than an LLRT as I have set it up?)
3) How can I assess the significance of contrasts between different
levels of the categorical predictor (i.e., b1)?
I am used to the summary.glme command in S+ 8.0, which generates:
parameter estimates, parameter standard errors, t values, and p-values
(describing the significance of the t values) for each level of a
categorical predictor, compared to the reference level for that
predictor.
In a manner similar to summary.glme, would...

...GLMM. I will have a paper in June issue of
Bioemtrika. REML estimation has the same asymptotic property as
standard MLE but less bias for finite samples. Of course, one can argue
that Bayesian formulation automatically generates REML for variance
components.
Now the software.
PQL and variations: GLME in beta by José Pinheiro, reglm by Gordon

Bayesian method: GLMMgibbs and BUGS (not a R or S-plus package).
Standard MLE: glmm (only a random intercept) in one of Jim Lindsey's
packages?
Ok, this still leaves us without a good way o...

writing a package for generalized linear mixed modesl
Happy new month, everyone!
I am planning to write a NIH grant proposal to study ways to speed
Monte Carlo based maximum likelihood algorithm for hierarchical models
with a focus on generalized linear mixed models (GLM with random
effects). I thought it would be nice and also increase the chance of
funding if I could produce an R package in the process. I understand
that Prof. Pinheiro ang Bates
