compiz 0.3.6 in fedora rawhide
Hi,
I've just updated compiz in fedora rawhide and wanted to post a quick
overview of the patches we still carry. Patch details are available

Blur is incredibly slow on the intel i915
I'm getting about 1 frame every 7 seconds with alpha or focus blur
enabled. Is this normal? I get around 30-40 FPS when using water on
high settings.
Would framebuffer_object support for the driver be of any use? Would
it make things faster?

Fragment interface on Intel
Hi
It seem that the fragment interface on certain plugins exceeds the
amount of fragment operations possible on Intel GMA cards. This only
occurs with the "water" and "blur" plugins. the plugins activate OK
and do not report a missing GL_ARB_fragment_program in the server
extensions. Waves appear when I use the water plugin with
<Super><Ctrl> but there is no

Apps slow down after several minutes
A problem I have with most applications I've tried is after several minutes, they will slow down to a crawl, becoming unusable. The program I'm mainly interested in is Painkiller (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/painkiller/index.html). It runs beautifully at first, and I can usually get through a level, but after that, it slows down or even stops. Is this an issue in Wine or could this

[PATCH] nv50/gallium: small fix for nv50_transfer_rect_m2mf (sy <-> dy)
...0->viewport.translate[1] - nv50->framebuffer.height));
as well, which would make the viewport transformation correct, but the ST still
outputs the wrong vertex coordinates for clear_with_quad.
To fix both things, one could just let st_fb_orientation in st_context.h return
Y_0_BOTTOM, but then glCopyTexSubImage2D (calling the appropriate function in
st_cb_texture.c) flips the image and copies from the wrong offset, since offset
0 in memory is, well, top, as opposed to bottom like it seems to be for vertex
coordinates that bypass the viewport ...
Anyway, I guess I'm a bit confused now, and I don't...

Civilization IV refuses to run, also Morrowind problems
Hi,
I just tried to install Civ4 1.74 according to the notes on its appdb page (using the new 1.1.10 Debian 5.0 packages), but whenever I try to run the game, I get this:
