"Glare" condition - How well does asterisk handle?
Hi-
I have an upcoming application that requires use of PRI channels that are
primarily used for high-volume incoming traffic, but that are to be used for
outbound calling as well. Of course, one option is to have dedicated
outbound channels reserved, but this is an inefficient use of channel
resources.
Normally PBX's are designed to have the CPE yield to an incoming call if a

Fw: Digium FXO Interfaces don't support groundstart???
A thought occurred to me to on how to further quantify the impact of "glare"
on a properly dimensioned trunk group and debunk the ground start glare
concern. A cursory traffic analysis clarifies:
1. Assume you have a two-way trunk group, dimensioned for average busy
hour, average busy season for P01 grade of service, Erlang B or Poison
distribution.
2. Further assume that the

Darren, yes, I'd be happy to help.
I'll contact you off list to sort out the
arrangements.
I should warn you that it may be a
wasted journey for you, as I really
dont know if it will exhibit the problem.

OrderedHash
Looks like I have skipped on this, but still - a couple of questions:
1) Why there suddenly is an OrderedHash in ActiveSupport? (this
glaring omission from ruby core is present in many apps already)
2) Why it doesn''t match the semantics of Hash respectively?
3) Why it''s #nodoc ?

Problem on Outgoing Calls (FXO - SIP)
Hello,
We have a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls that come in via
our analog POTS lines connected to FXO cards in an Adtran TA750. This
is connected to a T100P.
We are using Polycom IP 500's. The problem we are experiencing is, on
frequent occasions, when someone dials out, there is another person who
has just dialed in.
I have had this problem at my house before (without an *

Ok, well, my ignorance is probably glaring here, but what I meant was,
the make the BURL/URLAUTH pieces strictly between Dovecot and the
backend SMTP server, make it invisible to the Client...

Simultaneous Inbound and Outbound calls on analog lines...
Hello! I've run into a problem where a user is making an outbound call at the same time that an inbound call is being made on the same analog line. It appears that as the zap channel is opened for the outbound call, it is simply answering the inbound call. Obviously, both parties involved in the calling get a bit confused. Previously, it happened only on an occasional basis. However, as this

Traffic shaping problem
...st week to do traffic shaping on a production system,
object of the exercise was simply to throttle the outgoing traffic.
tc qdisc add dev eth4 root tbf rate 300mbit burst 300kb latency 50ms
But the server became rather instable, crashing repeatedly without
anything in the logs.
Can anybody spot glaring mistakes in the tc command above,
or tell me what I should have done instead?

PRI D-channel signalling error? "Ring reques ted onchannel 0/1 a lready in use on span 1. Hanging up owner."
Now that's quite interesting - yes, this is a two way span. I thought that
the D-channel negotiation that happens before the B-channel is set up would
have implicitly avoid the glare condition through signalling the
intent-to-use to the resource to the remote end (a-la E&M wink start).
So what seems to be happening in my case is my CPE is set for a 'Descending'

REXML vs libxml
Hi all,
I''ve been looking at the performance of my fb app and one glaring issue
seems to be with the parsing speed of rexml in processing the results. Has
anyone looked into porting the facebooker parser from rexml to libxml? If
not, any reason I shouldn''t try?
Thanks!
Yu-Shan.

Backwards compatability
In doing my testing I''m wondering if maintaining backwards compatability
for existing applications is important. The question boils down to
this: Are there sufficient applications that are using wxRuby (pre
swig) that we should expect to have to support all/most without changes
or should we expect that most applications will need to learn the ''new''
ways things

When I do samba-tool spn list web-intranet-macmini, I see the SPN(s) associated with that user, and they are correct.
Is there something glaringly obvious I’m missing?

Windows TAP Problems?
.../reads from the TAP device fail with:
"Error while writing to Windows tap device <device ID truncated>: (997)
Overlapped I/O operation is in progress"
A bit of googling doesn't reveal much except some possible intrusions by
a couple of recent Windows KB updates. Is this some glaring failure of
my own that I am just not seeing, or have the new updates incapacitated
tinc in one way or another?
Thanks!

i posted without including some obviously useful information...
os: osx 10.2.1
fink: latest cvs build
apple dev tools: latest (july w/ august patch)
i attempted to build flac-1.0.4 via the ./configure; make method. i did not
notice any glaring compile time errors and ended up with binaries. those
binaries returned, simply "Bus Error" each time I attempted to compress a
wav file.
Any other information I can provide, I'd be happy to. I'm going to attempt a
compile using the osx compile instructions in the readme as soon...

Hi Devang,
Folding a cast is like folding any other operator: If the operand is
constant, the cast can be done at compile time. I've made the necessary
changes to LLVMFoldingBuilder.h to handle casts and several other operators.
I have attached the patch. There is one glaring thing that should be
addressed. The #ifdef RICH around code in CreateGEP is there because I'm
not familiar with STL enough to figure out how to get an array of
pointers out of a vector. :-( If someone could clue me in as to the best
way to do this, I'd greatly appreciate it.
