World Ocean Database files
Has anyone written a script or function to read data from NODC?s World
Ocean Database files?
(I know there are simple Fortran and C programs to read these files, but
the output is not suitable for easy analysis)
Thanks, Franz

Security issue
Hello,
I am trying to convince our IT Manager that R is as safe as possible from IT security point of view - could you point me to something on the web / some reasons for why this is true? I do not think he has a specific concern but does not know the software and would like to understand the security implications.
Thanks in advance

extract certain months toyears (zoo)
Dear useRs and developeRs,
In my diploma thesis I work with a daily time series of glacier runoff
data.
I did already aggregate them to monthly means etc.
Now i want to use just the summer values (I am indecisive by now what
that means, but let's make it easy and use months like June).
Is there a way to extract the data off this zoo into another zoo with
frequency=1 ?
Do you have

Desired Install in MotorHome
I've got a client who would love to be able to leave an asterisk
server running sompelace, and achieve telephone connectivity using an
IP phone from within his Motorhome in his words "I want to be able to
work from a mountaintop in Glacier National Park"
I've done some initial testing, and a SNOM200 SIP phone comes close
enough to working that I have not ruled out the idea as

error.crosses
Hello all, I have used describeBy to generate the following summary
statistics. I simply need x and y error bars on a plot that has CQN
(xaxis) and Price (yaxis). There should be four total points on the graph
(one for each supplier).
Using "error.crosses(desc$CQN, desc$Price)" does not work.

configured as 100FD, AutoNeg=Off. I have not met anyone so far with that
much performance difference, though some reported 1:2 speed ratio. Attached

SAS enterprise guide in R?
Hello,
Our company has been looking at "SAS enterprise guide 4" (Insightful Miner is a similar product from Insightful, I believe) which seems to provide a nice graphical way of displaying/managing a process or project. It is also accessible to non-programmers.
Does any of the R GUIs provide similar functionality please? Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance
