CuteFTP and sftp.
For those who did not get the annoucement. CuteFTP is now claiming to
support sftp as stated in the RFC. And at first glace it *SORTA* works.=)
I can upload files, but the directory listings are broken (it does not
display anything) and as a result download won't work (since cuteftp
rquires the file to be in the directory listing to get). I'm going to
back down a releas of sftp-server.c when I get home and te...

RNG not initialised for sftp only under Solaris.
Out of the box on Solaris 2.7 using the internal entropy system. I am
able to login but as soon as I get past the password prompt it dies
because it claims the RNG is not initialised.

Status of speexdsp?
...work and just want to give
the general public a last chance of finding any bugs left over before
making the actual release that may need to be supported for a long time.
Is there any technical reason why SpeexDSP never saw an official
release (which makes the project look abandoned at first glace)? It's
been three years since rc3 was released and that has been in
widespread use since then. Since there has not happened much in the
source repo, what are the chances of releasing what was rc3 or the
current head as 1.2.0?
I'd also like to thank everybody involved in the project...

What's the performance of the intel x3100 like?
I know at first glace you might think it's terrible, but in my experience in windows it's pretty good. my question really is, do intel drivers suffer from the same or similar issues that ati drivers do when it comes to running directx games under wine? or is it simply a matter of power? it'd really be a sha...

Can''t get Fast CGI working.
Well, after many hours of tinkering and internet browsing I just can''t
get Fast CGI to work with Rails and Apache 1.3 on FreeBSD 5.4 Normal CGI
works fine, but as soon as I enable FastCGI in .htaccess I get the
message:
Application error
Rails application failed to start properly
Here''s what I''ve done so far:

samba log - mac osx - console output - hacking evidence?
...upport,
1) This is not a support E-Mail address. This E-Mail address is for
reporting security vulnerabilities in the Samba software. It is not for
support.
2) For support issues, you may wish to take your question to the
samba at samba.org list, where I have redirected this reply.
3) At first glace, looking at the logs you provided, I see no evidence
at all that you have "been hacked" or have even been connected to at
all.
The logs do show that the same server is running and those logs show the
normal startup and shutdown of the nmbd name server and the smbd session
servers to prov...

[PATCH] Add a Maximum Idle Time (1.2.2)
The attached patch adds an option (off by default to preserve current
behavior) to set a timeout on the select() statement that waits for input
in clientloop.c. This fixes a timeout issue for me (explained below) and
probably also fixes the timeouts mentioned in last month's thread "Idle
time out". The patch is also available by http from:

Suggest changing dirhash defaults for FreeBSD 9.2.
I have been experimenting with dirhash settings, and have scoured the internet
for other peoples' experience with it.
(I found the performance improvement in compiling has forestalled the need to
add an SSD drive. ;-)
I believe that increasing the following values by 10 would benefit most FreeBSD
users without disadvantage.
