Re: Virtual gaming/workstation desktops using KVM VGA passthrough?
GizmoChicken, Read that there's a problem with Nvidia GeForce GTX cards and both Xen and KVM, like it's not on a Nvidia whitelist, I'm a bit concerned. From the ArchLinux thread I've seen some success with Nvidia GeForce GTX cards, this is confusing. The bit I read here was: " That woul...

Xen 4.3 on Ubuntu 13.10?
I''m eager to test Xen 4.3 with Ubuntu 13.10 (saucy). I tried compiling Xen from source, but unfortunately, I didn''t have much luck. Will Xen 4.3 be available in the Ubuntu 13.10 repository any time soon? If not, is it available from any ppa as a .deb? Virtual gaming/workstation desktops using KVM VGA passthrough?
Dear List, Recently I read an article [1] about how to use KVM and VGA passthrough to create multiple GPU accelerated VM's for use in gaming or as virtual workstations: [1] http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Multiheaded-NVIDIA-Gaming-using-Ubuntu-14-04-KVM-585/ I'm planning on building a KVM workstation to do this using CentOS 7 or Ubuntu 14.04 LTS as the base virtualization host

VGA Passthru - FLR?
Hi, everyone. I''m Guilherme Suzuki (brazillian, by the way) and really interested in xen-vga-passthru. Lately, I bought a brand new Saphire HD 7950 (OC Boost) because I saw in a wiki somewhere that users have been able to passthru these VGA devices to domU (win7, win-xp and so on). But, after I installed it, I executed *lspci -vv* to check if FLR in DevCap was present (which

XCP 1.6: GPU passthrough with Ubuntu 12.10 HVM guest?
...ny luck getting GPU passthrough to work with a Radeon GPU and an Ubuntu 12.10 (or 13.04) HVM guest, would you please provide a few tips, such as what driver was used and what edits, if any, were made to any relevant guest configuration files? Thanks in advance for any help provided. Best regards, GizmoChicken _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xen.org http://lists.xen.org/xen-users

“Unable to connect to libvirt” (xen, xl toolstack, and virt-manager)
...aunchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1180281 Judging from the information that I provided in the above referenced bug-report (some of which is copied below), does this appear to be an actual bug? Or have I failed to configure something properly? Thanks for any help with this! Best regards, GizmoChicken P.S. Here is more of the error that I get when attempting to start virt-manager: Unable to connect to libvirt. unable to connect to 'localhost:8000': Connection refused Verify that: - A Xen host kernel was booted - The Xen service has been started Libvirt URI is: xen:/// Traceback...

...her bugs. If you go with Ubuntu 14.04, you might want to install a newer "mainline" kernel. But in any case, please do keep in mind that VFIO is still new and so you will almost assuredly encounter some bugs. So don't expect 100% stability. Hope the above is of some help. VGA-Passthrough: Driver suggestion for Nvidia GT 520
Dear list, currently I have a Debian Wheezy with Kernel 3.6.6 and Xen 4.2 as Dom0 and an Ubuntu 12.04 as a HVM DomU with vga passthrough for my Nvidia GT 520 card working. Hardware is a Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 with IOMMU and an Athlon II. I used the howto by David Techer to get my card running. Currently I can only use the driver version 275.xx of the nvidia closedsource driver. All newer

VGA Passthrough (NVIDIA) - current status?
Hi everyone, Sorry if this gets asked over and over again, but I just joined the list and wanted to ask what the current status of the VGA-passthrough possibilities is. Today I set up my new workstation that has a Kepler card in it and compiled XEN 4.2.1 on Ubuntu 12.04. The first problem I ran into was that the system just hung up after the login screen, which (after quite some google-research)

Xen 4.1 compile from source and install on Fedora 17
Hello, I have asked this question in Xen-users mailing list too. But since it involves compiling from source, I realised asking this here makes more sense. Please forgive me for the spam. I am relatively new to Xen and need help compiling and installing Xen from source. Using some tutorials online, I have got Xen working with the ''yum install xen'' method. I used virt-manager

How to use xl (in place of xm) with libvirt 1.0.2 and Xen 4.2.1 in Ubuntu 13.04?
QUESTION: What, if anything, can I do so that I can use xl (in place of xm) with libvirt 1.0.2 and Xen 4.2.1 in Ubuntu 13.04? BACKGROUND: I am testing a fully updated (as of March 27) installation of Ubuntu 13.04 that includes the following packages: libvirt - version 1.0.2-0ubuntu9 xen-hypervisor-4.2-amd64 - version 4.2.1-0ubuntu1 Upon setting TOOLSTACK=xm in /etc/default/xen (as well as
