winbind - getent problem
Hi,
I'm trying to authenticate users from AD. I did join the machine to the
domain, and I'm able to see the users list with wbinfo -u.
I have the following problem:
"getent passwd" it givs me the list of all users.
"getent passwd user" does not give any answer.
what could be the problem?
I'm using SUSE Linux 10. with the packages that came with the distrib.

Find and remove matching parentheses
To create a more end-user readable table captions for modeld, I would like
to get rid of the I(...) construct in formulae ("what's the hell does the
I(..) mean in the contrast table")
Example:
effect ~ I(sqrt(nitro))*treat + I(nitro^2)
should giv
effect ~ sqrt(nitro)*treat + nitro^2
In know, this is a dumb model, just my test case. As far I remember, finding
matching parentheses is nasty in regexp, so I resorted to a loop and
counting opening/closing.
Is there a more elegant solution?

help text for which.min
Dear R developers,
I find the which.min function very handy. However, maybe you could
consider a tiny addition to the example data in the the help text.
By adding another zero to the vector x...
x <- c(1:4, 0, 0:5,11)
...the example would more explicitly show that which.min actually
'giv[es] the index of the /first/ minimum or maximum respectively of x'.
This will also more clearly distinguish it from which(x == min(x)) that
is mentioned in the text.
which.min(x)

prospective students who may not start off by looking at publication

I realize there are many R Development Centers around the world. I wrote
about what we (now) think makes us an R Development Center, at:
http://giv-wikis.uni-muenster.de/agp/bin/view/Main/RDevelopmentCenter
and I asked someone to develop a logo (two actually, one with CENTER,
one with CENTRE). I believe it would be good for R if more R Development
Centers would make explicit somehow that they are R Development Center,
and maybe that a list of...

[Bug 1592] New: Fingerprints for SSHD host key don't match (local ssh-keygen -l vs. ssh localhost)
...t mindrot.org
ReportedBy: doerges at pre-sense.de
Created an attachment (id=1628)
--> (http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/attachment.cgi?id=1628)
All files needed to set up test case
Problem:
I've come across two host key pairs which do not work correctly:
- ssh-keygen -l -f key_A gives fingerprint fp_A
- ssh'ing to an sshd using key_A as host key givs fingerprint fp_B
- fp_B != fp_A (actually the ssh client receives a different host
key)
The problem occurs with OpenSSH 5.1p (both openSUSE 11.1 and Knoppix
6.1 (Debian based)) and OpenSSH 4.6p1 (openSUSE 10.3).
It's...

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
