2.6.19-rc5-git4 benchmarks
Apologies for the wide alias, but as it may interest serveral
fs groups, here it is:
In the everlasting search for the best fs for my shiny new disks, I
was interested in some numbers, here're the results:
http://nerdbynature.de/bench/amd64/2.6.19-rc5-git4/test-3/dm-crypt-3.html
details: http://nerdbynature.de/wp/?cat=4
(in short: ext3 pretty fast in all operations. then again, the numbers
suggest that sometimes a crypto-fs is faster than withou crypto, eg.
'ext3_no-cipher' vs. 'ext3_aes-cbc-essiv:md5'...that's strange, no?)

Anyone successfully using CentOS 5 and a Keyspan USA-19HS USB-Serial Adapter?
...anything connected to the adapter, but it grinds me
to have to boot up ''doze for that purpose.
This morning I ran into the problem again and did some googling to see
anyone else had this problem. I found this entry in
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/snapshots/old/patch-2.6.20-git4.log
Date: Wed Jan 3 15:36:25 2007 +0100
fix for bugzilla #7544 (keyspan USB-to-serial converter)
At least the Keyspan USA-19HS USB-to-serial converter supports
two different configurations, one where the input endpoints
have interrupt transfer type and one where they are bulk...

Dmesg log for 2.6.31-rc8 kernel been built on F12 (rawhide) vs log for same kernel been built on F11 and installed on F12
Previous 2.6.31-rc8 kernel was built on F11 and installed with modules on F12.
Current kernel has been built on F12 (2.6.31-0.204.rc9.fc12.x86_64) and installed
on F12 before loading under Xen 3.4.1.
Dmesg log looks similar to Michael Yuong''s ''rc7.git4'' kernel for F12.
Boris.

[Bug 22179] New: [KMS] Black screen with KMS enabled
...Kernel modules: nvidiafb
Tried to use in-kernel DRM from

c05c0840514599d229e6719d42a2f4e6e0e8ea1e were extracted as patch, and this
patch applied to 2.6.30-rc8-git4 (due to unrelated XFS bug in earlier
2.6.30-rc7 kernel)
Resulted kernel boots fine, and nouveau DRM works in two-minute testing, but
KMS (modeset=1 as module parameter) gives me black screen. No, this time, i
verified that fbcon was loaded.
