Hello, I have RH 7.2 and was trying to make HP Officejet 7110 work with it. I have upgraded ghostscipt to 7.0.6 installed hpijs1.3.1 and foomatic-2.0. So in printconf-gui I was able to chose HP OfficeJet 7110 from the printers list and install hpijs driver. After sending page to print, printer is displaying message (printing) after printing page and diode On is blinking. Setting in printconf-gui un...

Asterisk core dumping on SendFax with FFA
...n Centos 5.2 i386 but I can also re-produce on Centos 5.4 x86_64 The issue seems to be with the error - "failed to queue document '/var/spool/asterisk/fax/campaign_70.tif'" However I can confirm that a) the file exists, b) it is worl readable and c) is created from a pdf with ghostscipt in the recommended fashion - gs -q -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -sDEVICE=tiffg4 -sPAPERSIZE=a4 -sColorMode=mono -sOutputFile=campaign_70.tif combo2010.pdf and can open the file in preview on mac without any issues. CUPS filtering mechanism explained, was: [cups raw mode, was Re: unlink data file in cups_job_submit]
...s only a vehicle to execute a ghostscript commandline at that stage in the CUPS filtering chain, where "normally" the native CUPS "pstoraster" filter would kick in. cupsomatic by-passes pstoraster, "kidnaps" the printfile from CUPS away and re-directs it to go through Ghostscipt. Hi I'm exporting some graphs from R to M$Word. I used png, jpeg and bmp and the quality is poor when comparing with the postscript. What is the best way to export a chart to be included in a M$Word file ? Thanks EJ

Reducing the size of pdf graphics files produced with R
Hi, Without trying to print 1000000 points (see <http:// finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/42105.html>), I often print maps for which I do not want to loose too much of coastline detail, and/or plots with 1000-5000 points (yes, some are on top of each other, but using transparency (i.e. rgb colors with alpha information) this actually comes through as useful information.

What am I missing here?!
OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.
