libogg subtitle request
Hi to all ,
I like Theora and Vorbis , these codecs can make good streams patent-free.
But i miss one feature in Ogg container , i see a lot Theora videos of
Presentations , Conference and other talking acts , all with an average
quality (video and sound) but seeing these videos i realize the lack feature
of Ogg container , subtitle support.
These kind of videos are in a variety of languages

Opera proposed Theora for native video playback in browsers
Hi ,
I see this news in Opera website :
http://my.opera.com/haavard/blog/2007/03/05/1
I think this is a good news for Theora Team and also a greater news if video
tag becomes true.
This extract of the website is incredible :
'One thing to keep in mind that adding native support for Theora in Opera
would only add about 300K to Opera's overall size! And I am sure that could

Ready for real use?
Hi all,
I've been following Theora's progress for a while as the company I work
for is looking at replacing the use of the MPEG1 codec with a royalty
free alternative. I have evaluated Theora and I think in its current
state it is quite close to doing to job as oppose to Dirac which still

What I would like to ask is how far from 1.0 is Theora? I see periodic

XiphQT doesn't export to Ogg Theora
Hi ,
I tried XiphQT with QuickTime to view all Ogg Theora files and works
perfectly.
I also try to import these Ogg Theora files into iMovie and works perfectly.
But there is a lack of export Ogg Theora function into QuickTime.
XiphQT component works well but you can't make Ogg Theora files.
There is a way to open a new ticket for this request?
