the minor tick marks appear between the tick marks which would have been
drawn without the option xaxt="n".
I use R.2.8.1.

times series trellis plot
Dear List,
I am struggling with the trellis graphic. A similar problem was mentioned
here:
http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/R-How-can-you-get-N-replicates-of-a-multi-screen-multivariate-time-series-plot-td811850.html
I do have 2 time series data sets. The 2 time series differ in some orders
of magnitude. I managed to plot them into 1 graph, but, since the data is
that different, on of the data

combine variables to matrix
I just got stuck with a quite simple question. I've just read in an
ASCII table from a plain text file with read.table(). It's a 1200x1200
table. R has assigned variables for each column: V1,V2,V3,V4,...
For small data sets
data <- read.table("data.txt");
data.matrix <- cbind(V1,V2,V3);
works. But how could I put together 1200 columns?
I've searched the R mailing

R_LIBS_USER on Ubuntu 16.04
Dear all,
the recent update to R-3.4.1 kind of screwed the path to the libraries
installed on a user basis.
The previous version of the file /etc/R/Renviron had the following line
activated:
R_LIBS_USER=${R_LIBS_USER-'~/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-library/3.4'}
This one is commented in the current one which means that the path to the
libraries installed previously is not found. I never

In any case, winbind provides user and group mapping from NT to unix, ie
you can log into the unix box with an NT username and password, all the
details are retrieved via the PDC.

Plot degree symbol by itself
Dear all,
I'm trying to plot the degree symbol by itself between two square
brackets. I just want to have "K [?]". So far I got to:
expression(K ~ group("[",1*degree,"]"))
or
expression(K ~ group("[",1^o,"]"))
But it won't work without a number or letter.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

plot contour map for irregular data points
Hello,
I'm dealing with the following problem:
I have a table with x and y coordinates and corresponding values of
a mineral concentration, let's call it z.
Can someone provide me a short step-by-step manual for the steps
necessary to get a contour map?
How to sort and interpolate my matrix to an equidistant grid which
can afterwards be plotted by contour(x,y,z)? (e.g. fill the

Echo to file using Rscript
I use R 2.12.0 in Windows XP.
For debugging and control I am trying to get a file with contains the
echo when code is copied into the R Gui. This works e.g. with the command:
R CMD BATCH --no-restore D:\path\script.r
then a file called script.Rout is generated in the same folder. It
contains the code and the corresponding output.
This does not work using:
Rscript --no-restore
