VGA Passthrough of AMD FirePro W7000 to Windows 8: Not enough resources
I''m using Xen 4.3, installed from source on Ubuntu 13.04. I''ve
successfully installed a Windows 8 guest, and had Xen pass it an AMD
FirePro W7000 GPU (technically 2 PCI devices - the second is for the
sound), as well as the virtualised graphics adapter. Windows finds the
card fine, and I''ve installed AMD''s drivers. Device Manager says that
the card cannot

...is broken for me currently, too. But i guess this is only a
matter of finding the currupted changeset.
In general, I was never aware that this is even a problem. I used to
simply hide both graphic cards from the dom0 at boot time via the
pciback.hide and than assigned them as secondary (= without
gfx_passthrough=1) to differnet domUs, one to a Windows 7 for Work /
Gaming and one to a Linux as Mediacenter. The dom0 boots just fine
without graphic cards and the management (starting xen / starting
domUs etc.) is done via SSH from either a Smartphone or a laptop.
My dom0 is a Debian Wheezy, but with an open S...

I can only boot the WinXP client via the VNC console (gfx_passthrough=0),
and from within WinXP I see that the OS has detected the GTX480 card (as
its secondary card), but I am not able to use it. I have tried the 275.33

My question is related to the number of PCIe lanes I have available to the

VGA Passthrough crashes machine
I''ve just had my first attempt at getting VGA passthrough to work, and
it crashed the machine. I''m trying to understand whether this is a
problem with my hardware, configuration or a software problem.
I''m running Xen 4.1.2 with Linux 3.1.2
The CPU is an Intel Core i5-650

Xen VGA Passthrough - GTX 680 successfully hard-moded to GRID K2
Hi Gordan,
I wanted to let you know that today I decided to have a try for my GTX 680. Gigabite GTX 680 2048 MB GDDR5.
I know that this particular card could be hard-moded to GRID K2 so VGA passthrough could work.
Following instructions found on http://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/hacking-nvidia-cards-into-their-professional-counterparts/420/ I just removed two resistors.
Here is a screenshot

ATI VGA Passthrough / Xen 4.2 / Linux 3.8.6
Hi,
I''m trying to get VGA passthrough to work to an XP x64 guest, and I''m
seeing "interesting" things happening.
I''m using the kernel and userspace tools from here:
http://xen.crc.id.au/support/guides/install/#
on Scientific Linux 6.
I gave up on trying to get an Nvidia card to work in the guest having
read about the extra patches required to get a

Patches for VGA-Passthrough XEN 4.2 unstable
Hello, I have been working on VGA-passthrough in the last month.
When Xen was at his version 3.5 there was a few patches to make this work for some graphic cards using the patches developed by Han Weidong and posted here (http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2009-08/msg01176.html) and the same patches posted file by file are here

[PATCH 00 of 17] Documentation updates
The following series flushes my documentation queue and replaces
previous postings of those patches.
The main difference is that the xl cfg file is now formatted using POD
instead of markdown and presented as a manpage.
I have setup a cron job to build docs/html and publish it at
http://xenbits.xen.org/docs/unstable/ (it''s a bit bare right now).
The motivation for some of these patches
