I would have, but it works only once. After the first time changing the settings it did not work a second time. Just once.
There are differences, though:
drwxrwx---+ 2 RUBENS\gf root 4096 Mär 30 14:09 gf
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Mär 30 14:56 mrtx
The first share could be changed once, the second share could not. The changing of the owner for /fs/gf worked well, but when I wanted to change it back I was not allowed. Additionally I could not ever change /fs/mrtx....

Ok, first /fs/mrtx, then /fs/gf:

Signature specific S4 Method export in NAMESPACE file would be cool
Assume that you have a S4 generic function gf(x) and two methods implementing
it,
The first for x of class A ( gf#A) and
the second for x of class B ( gf#B)
I would very much like to be able to:
1.) export only one method e.g. gf#A to be visible for users of the package.
2.) hide gf#B automatically when gf is exported but not the class &quo...

Slow ttests in R-devel
...vel vs. current R-patched - one example is below
using a ttest. I have the following snippet of code that demonstrates the
problem while avoiding "real" code that takes an extremely long time to
finish on R-devel:
library(genefilter)
data(eset)
eset$cov1
z <- ttest(eset$cov1, p=0.01)
gf <- filterfun(z)
system.time(genefilter(eset, gf))
(this requires the genefilter & Biobase packages from Bioconductor)
Using R-1.7.0p I had the following output:
> data(eset)
> eset$cov1

packGrob and dynamic resizing
Dear all,
I'm trying to follow an old document to use Grid frames,
Creating Tables of Text Using grid
Paul Murrell

As a minimal example, I wrote this,
gf <- grid.frame(layout = grid.layout(1, 1), draw = TRUE)
label1 <- textGrob("test", x = 0, just = "left", name="test")
gf=placeGrob(gf, rectGrob(), row = 1, col = 1)
gf=packGrob(gf, label1, row = 1, col = 1)
grid.draw(gf)
grid.edit("test", label = &quo...

You can put a share anywhere you like, but it is up to you to secure it.

How can I save the result for goodness of fit test
Dear All,
I run the goodness of fit test using goodfit() in vcd package.
The result is as follow:
Goodness-of-fit test for poisson distribution
X^2 df P(> X^2)
Pearson 1.053348 2 0.5905661
Warning message:
In summary.goodfit(gf) : Chi-squared approximation may be incorrect
I want to save the the test statistics(X^2), df, and p-value. How can I save
the result. Actually, I want to make a table.
In addition, there is warning message "In summary.goodfit(gf) : Chi-squared
approximation may be incorrect".
How can I...

Simple list manipulation question
I have a list of vectors
$A
"AB" "BC" "CD"
$B
"GF" "HG" "FH" "FJ"
and I want to convert it into a dataframe of form
A AB
A BC
A CD
B GF
B HG
B FH
B FJ
Just can't quite come up with a nice "R" solution for it.
Thanks,
Sean

Error while using fitdistr() function or goodfit() function
...first example from the documentation and it failed with the same error.
Changing the estimation method to ML worked.
@List: Can anyone else verify the error I got? I literally ran the
following two lines interactively from the example for goodfit:
dummy <- rnbinom(200, size = 1.5, prob = 0.8)
gf <- goodfit(dummy, type = "nbinomial", method = "MinChisq")
and got back
Warning messages:
1: In pnbinom(q, size, prob, lower.tail, log.p) : NaNs produced
2: In pnbinom(q, size, prob, lower.tail, log.p) : NaNs produced
Again, I hope this helps.

Asterisk + iaxmodem + hylafax makes sometimes wedged for hylafax
Hi, we have a faxserver with Asterisk, IAXModem and Hylafax.
Faxes come from a SIP trunk to Asterisk, then are forwarded throught 5 IAXModems managed with Hylafax.
Hylafax users can also send faxes to these modems and Asterisk send them throught the SIP trunk.
We also have a dedicated modem used only for sending faxes coming from an Hylafax dedicated user.
Sometimes Hylafax reports that a modem

How to do a stochastic model in R
Dear all of you,
I would like to get some help from you.
Here I attach you a model, that I would like to be stochastic so I would need each time the value of x changed, the values of parameters (ss, emrg, gf, spp, sr) did too according to a normal distribution, with mean its value and standard deviation given by the parameter name preceded by SDV (In the case of parameter ss, mean is 0.3 and Standad deviation 0.08). I explain myself, the model take the mean value of these parameter (ss, emrg, gf, spp,...

Security of OpenSSL ECDSA signatures
Dear OpenSSH devs,
I came accross this paper yesterday. http://eprint.iacr.org/2011/232
It states that they were able to recover ECDSA keys from TLS servers by
using timing attacks agains OpenSSL's ECDSA implementation.
Is that known to be exploitable by OpenSSH ? (In my understanding, it's
easy to get a payload signed by ECDSA during the key exchange so my
opinion is that it is).

You'll want to use yum shell to remove the CentOS stock packages and
replace them with the GFD ones in a single step.
I've documented the process for postfix here, dovecot works pretty much
the same in that regard.
One caveat about dovecot is that the co...
