Login Console on ttyUSB0
Kernel parameters aside (console=ttyUSB0 console=tty0), I am trying to get
a login console working on a USB-to-serial adapter.
systemctl enable serial-getty at ttyUSB0.service
systemctl start serial-getty at ttyUSB0.service
This works without issue on Debian 8. However when running the same on
CentOS 7, my logs are filled with:

Problems with booting Debian DomU
I''m running Xen 3.2 on Debian 5.0 (Lenny) and am having trouble booting up a Debian Etch DomU. It hangs at the end when it says "Starting periodic command scheduler: cron."
It''s just completely frozen. At one point I set it sit for a few hours and got back into the console and it said something about "time went backwards" but I used the

xen 3.3.0 etch sources console hangs
I installed xen 3.3.0 on a etch box from sources. I just modified the
standard kernel cause of some hardware drivers. I installed xen-tools
from backports (3.9-3~bpo40+1). To create a domU ist not the problem. I
can connect via ssh and everything works fine. But when i start a domU
with "xm create host.example.tld.cfg -c" to login to console from domU
it hangs after the message

I get this in my security postings.

Jun [undisclosed time] [undiscl.] login: 2 LOGIN FAILURES ON ttyv2, qmaild
As it turns out, I'm not running qmail :) And if I did, it would
definitely have a nologin shell. But that's beside the point-
I have had a perception that ttyv was for local/console logins, and that

reg dom0 console
Hello All,
After a few months of hiatus, we have resumed working on mips port of Xen.
We are at the point of booting dom0 userland (init process and its
children).
The init process gets spawned and in turn forks off processes to run
commands in /etc/rc.d/init.d/rcS. However, the getty process does not seem
to run subsequently and hence the login prompt is not displayed. Dom 0 does
not use the

xvc0 is a xen virtual console and does not correspond directly to a physical
device that I am aware of.

Try another console like ALT-F2. See if you have a black screen login prompt. I opened a bug with RedHat for a system that when I went from 6.7 to 6.8 booted but would not start the X server. Problem was in the MACH64 driver. It is missing an external symbol that the X server requires.

Xen 4.0 - No console prompt after booting domU but functional SSH
Hello xen-users !
I am coming for help concerning the just released 4.0 version. Install has
worked rather well on my Debian Lenny. I have just had a few bugs for which
I have found the answer looking around on this list.
I have created a Debian Lenny domU which boots up just fine. The only
problem is that I am unable to get a console prompt when using "xm console
nameofdomU". I do see

Problems with getty and X on runlevel switch [Was: Re: The future of centos]
The easy way to restart gdm is when you are on the login screen itself or the
desktop simply press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. This works for Upstart in CentOS 6.x
but will not work for CentOS 7.x which uses Systemd. The service command does
not work for gdm. However, logging out of the desktop will restart gdm. It works
for the graphical login exactly like the gettys in a TTY environment.

/bin/login problem
I would be surprised if someone hasn''t encountered this already, but I
haven''t found any discussion of the nature of this problem. I run RehHat
5.0. If a user makes a mistake in the login process such as the
following:
login: mistake
password: xxx
Login incorrect!
login: username
password xxxx
bash$
a ps will show, among other things,
2333 /bin/login --mistake.

My server with Ubuntu Hardy Heron x64 with Xen 3.2 hangs on when booting at
"Starting local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)".
My /etc/rc.local is default and I can''t find out why it stops there.
It''s possible to SSH to the server and everything works fine. I just can''t
do anything from the physical server.
I''ve googled but nothing have

I figured out that the system boots OK and it is possible
to login remotely. However the monitor does not start up.
Do you know how to fix it?
